Sources checked October 3, 2026. Official records establish decisions; campaign material establishes stated positions; reporting adds investigation and context. None alone establishes every claim.
No campaign website, party candidate page for 2026, news report or personal statement by Kimball Cariou for the 2026 campaign was found on 2026-10-03. The vote counts for the runs of 1996, 2001, 2017, 2020 and 2023 and for all five federal runs come from BC Ballot only, and voche.me did not open the Elections BC or Elections Canada results for them. The party's June 22, 2026 post titled Election of new BC Conservative leaders is a warning shot to the left carries the line By Kimball Cariou and says it was first published in People's Voice. No source voche.me opened says the writer of that opinion article is the candidate, so the article is not used. BC Ballot says a fifth candidate, announced by the Conservative Party, is not yet on the Elections BC list, and voche.me did not check that. Instagram, X and Facebook were not searched directly because they ask for a sign-in, and the Bing, Google and DuckDuckGo result pages returned nothing readable. His biography, work, own commitments, all-candidates meetings in the district, campaign finances for 2026 and endorsements were not found. Wikimedia Commons holds one photo of Kimball Cariou, credited to the Communist Party of Canada under the licence CC BY 3.0 and dated circa 2019. It is 357 by 397 pixels, smaller than the 640 by 800 pixels of the portrait size, and the file description does not state that the pictured man is this candidate, so the page has no portrait. The party's Our Platform page does not say which election it was written for, and its opening paragraph describes a snap election called by Premier David Eby, so voche.me lists its commitments as party text only. The questionnaire has not been sent.

What voche.me has checked
Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list (district, name and affiliation only), Elections BC's election dates page and 2024 statement of votes, the Communist Party of BC's home page, Our Platform page, Contact Us page, release of October 21, 2020 and by-election platform page of 2023, the party's site search for his surname, for Hastings, for candidate and for 2026 election, BC Ballot's pages for him and for Vancouver-Hastings, the legislature's member lists, the People's Voice and Communist Party of Canada site searches for his surname, and Wikimedia Commons.
None of these sources holds a statement by Kimball Cariou about the 2026 campaign. The party's platform is listed as party text. The WebSearch tool had reached its usage limit, so the name search was limited, and the Bing, Google and DuckDuckGo result pages returned no readable results. Instagram, X and Facebook were not searched directly because they ask for a sign-in. An empty section records what voche.me did not find on this date.
