His name is not in the 2024 statement of votes. In 2024 Randene Neill won the district with 14,474 votes (49.62 percent), and Chris Moore of the Conservative Party received 10,409 (35.68 percent).

The District of Sechelt's council page lists Mayor John Henderson and says he served as mayor of Sechelt between 2011 and 2014. It says he is a chartered accountant and entrepreneur who settled in Sechelt in 2003. The party's candidate page says he is finishing his second term as mayor and was re-elected in 2022. voche.me could not open the 2022 results, so it has not confirmed how many terms he has served. The link between the candidate and the Sechelt mayor rests on the party's page.

This is the party's plan title. The platform page says the full platform is coming soon, does not name him, and gives no measure, cost or date. voche.me has found no statement in which he repeats it.

Does he state this plan as his own, and which housing measures would apply on the Sunshine Coast?

Policies, budgets & programs

His municipal role comes from the District of Sechelt's own pages and from the party. No provincial office is on record, so there is no legislature record to review. The District's two candidate lists are the record of his 2026 mayoral nomination.

No campaign website was found. johnhenderson.ca, johnhendersonbc.ca, henderson4mla.ca and johnhendersonmla.ca did not answer direct requests on 2026-10-03. The party candidate page links only to the party's own social media accounts, and no personal account of his was found, so no post is used. The name search was limited: the search tool had reached its usage limit, so the name search used direct reads of the District of Sechelt, the party and Elections BC pages. A news listing showed headlines from Powell River Peak (October 1, 2026) and Coast Reporter (September 17, 2026) that bear on his candidacy and his place on the mayoral list. Both sites block direct reads, so neither article was opened and nothing from them is used, including any reason for his name leaving the mayoral list. The same listing showed Coast Reporter, CBC and My Coast Now headlines from 2022 to 2025 about Sechelt council and its mayor. None was opened, so the accountability section is empty because nothing was verified. A person should review that coverage before the section is treated as complete. The District's council page says he served as mayor between 2011 and 2014 and the party says he is finishing a second term and was re-elected in 2022. The 2022 results page at CivicInfo BC blocked the direct read, so the number of terms is unconfirmed. The link between this candidate and the Sechelt mayor rests on the party's page. His roles with BC Ferries, the Sunshine Coast Community Forest, the Sechelt Sewage Facilities Commission, the Electric Vehicle Association, the Highway Society and the Chamber of Commerce, his degree and accounting designation, his years in Hong Kong and the 2012 medal come from the party or the District and were not checked with those bodies. Sechelt council minutes are in a meeting portal whose list of meetings loads only in a web browser, and none were opened. The party's platform page says the platform is coming soon and does not name him, and none of the 16 releases on its news page from September 23 to October 2, 2026 names him. All-candidates meetings in the district, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date.

What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list and key dates, the 2024 statement of votes, the party's candidate, team, platform and news pages, and the District of Sechelt's council page and two lists of 2026 municipal candidates.

No campaign website, personal social media account or statement in his own words was found on this date. The party's platform page says the platform is coming soon and does not name him. Local news reports from Coast Reporter and Powell River Peak could not be opened. An empty section records what voche.me did not find on this date.
