It says she had worked for ten years at a locally owned company that gives technical services to the pulp and paper industry, visiting mills and managing lab departments and staff. In 2020 her VoteMate profile, in text the page marks as submitted by the candidate or her team, said she held a science degree from the University of British Columbia and a management diploma, and worked for Simon Fraser University as operations manager of a research lab at Surrey Memorial Hospital. voche.me has not checked these claims with the employers or the university, and does not know her work in 2026.

Check the evidence
Sources checked October 1, 2026. Official records establish decisions; campaign material establishes stated positions; reporting adds investigation and context. None alone establishes every claim.
No 2026 campaign website, party candidate page, news report, interview or public statement from her was found on 2026-10-01. The BC Green Party's 2026 candidates page lists 18 candidates and does not name her, and the address bcgreens.ca/candidates-2026/jodi-murphy/ returned HTTP 404. A search of the party website for Murphy returned two earlier releases that name her and no 2026 release. A Surrey Now-Leader report on the Surrey districts, dated 2026-09-28, does not name her. VoteMate's 2026 page for Surrey-Guildford lists Garry Begg and Garry Thind and did not list her on this date. BC Ballot lists her as a filed BC Green Party candidate in the district, with no statement or link. A Facebook page titled "Jodi Murphy - BC Greens Candidate" showed only its title and a short description to a direct read, so no post on it is used; its posts may date from earlier campaigns. Her 2017 and 2020 X account returned HTTP 404 to a direct read. The 2017 and 2020 material belongs to a BC Green candidate with the same name in the same district; voche.me found no 2026 page that states the two are the same person. The work history in the party's earlier release and her 2020 VoteMate profile has not been checked with the employers or the university, and her work in 2026 is unknown. The two earlier party releases show dates on the page (May 2, 2019 and September 1, 2022) that do not fit their text, so this page gives no date for them. Search results also show other people named Jodi Murphy, including a principal at a building consulting firm; no page ties any of them to this candidacy, so none is used. No usable published photograph of the 2026 candidate was found, so the page has no portrait. All-candidates meetings in the district, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date. Nominations close October 3, 2026, so other candidates may still be added. The questionnaire has not been sent.
