The party says he is a police officer, a wrestler and a youth wrestling coach. About Jessy Sahota

Elections BC lists Jessy Sahota as the Conservative Party candidate in Surrey-Serpentine River. On the copy of the list stamped October 1, 2026 11:00:06 PM, the only other accepted candidate in the district is Sikander Kang of the BC NDP. Nominations close at 1 p.m. on October 3, 2026, so more candidates may be added.

The party named him in its Surrey slate in a release dated September 29, 2026. On the same day his account on X (@jessysahota_) posted that he was honoured to join the party's team for the provincial election. The Western Standard printed that post in its campaign report of September 30, 2026.

The party's candidate page says he is a law enforcement officer, an international athlete and a community coach. It says he has coached young wrestlers in Surrey with the Yo-Bro Yo-Girl Youth Initiative since 2009, received the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Award in 2022, and won a national wrestling championship while he studied at Simon Fraser University. voche.me has not checked these statements with the youth group, the award office or the university.

The party also says the International Association of Chiefs of Police named him in 2022 as one of its 40 Under 40, a list of police officers under the age of 40. The association's own 40 Under 40 page for Jessy Sahota describes a constable on the Delta Police Department's Youth Liaison Team who works with young people at risk and who wrestles and plays kabaddi. His X account pins a CBC British Columbia post from October 6, 2022 about a Delta police officer, Const. Jessy Sahota, who won the award.

The Delta Optimist reported in April 2024 that Delta Police Const. Jessy Sahota had been named the Conservative Party of Canada candidate in Delta, and in March 2025 that he was on political leave from his police job. Elections Canada's official results for the federal election of April 28, 2025 show Jessy Sahota of the Conservative Party of Canada second in Delta with 27,314 votes (43.2 percent). Jill McKnight of the Liberal Party won with 32,802 votes (51.8 percent). In April 2026 his X account marked one year since that election and thanked the people who supported him.

In the 2024 provincial election, Conservative Linda Hepner won Surrey-Serpentine River with 9,782 votes (49.70 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. Baltej Singh Dhillon of the BC NDP received 9,347 votes (47.49 percent) and independent Jim McMurtry 554 (2.81 percent). voche.me searched the whole statement for the surname Sahota and found one candidate, Manjeet Singh Sahota of the BC Green Party in Surrey-Guildford. The Surrey Now-Leader reports that Hepner decided not to run in 2026.

No campaign website was found on 2026-10-02: jessysahota.ca, jessysahota.com and votejessysahota.ca did not answer. His X account (@jessysahota_) showed its profile line, a pinned post and four newer posts to a direct request without signing in; the account lists 980 posts, so most were not read, and the April 2026 post is cut short by X. His Instagram account (jessy_sahota) showed only a sign-in page. A LinkedIn profile and two Facebook pages under his name, one from the 2025 federal campaign, need a sign-in and were not read. Nothing from them is used. The party's candidate page labels him "Interim Conservative Party Leader". The party's own team page lists him only as the Surrey-Serpentine River candidate, so voche.me does not repeat that label. The party's statements on his Yo-Bro Yo-Girl coaching, his Queen's Platinum Jubilee Award and his national wrestling title at Simon Fraser University were not checked with the organization, the Lieutenant Governor's office or the university. The International Association of Chiefs of Police page about him does not print the year of the award; the year 2022 comes from the party and from the CBC post his account pins. The tie between this candidacy and the Delta police officer who ran federally in 2025 rests on his X account, which announced this candidacy and also pins the CBC post about the award and refers to the federal election, together with the party's description of the same award. voche.me found no page from the party or the press on 2026-10-02 that names both candidacies. An open-edit wiki page about him was found and not used. His 2025 federal campaign finances and his 2026 provincial finances were not reviewed. The party's platform page says the platform is coming soon and does not name him. All-candidates meetings, endorsements and debates in Surrey-Serpentine River beyond the October 15 forum were not found on this date. Nominations close October 3, 2026, so other candidates may still be added. The questionnaire has not been sent.

What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-02: the Elections BC candidate list (copy stamped October 1, 2026 11:00:06 PM) and key dates page, the 2024 statement of votes, the party's candidate, team, platform and news pages and two party releases, his account on X, Elections Canada's 2025 results for Delta, the International Association of Chiefs of Police page about him, and reporting from the Surrey Now-Leader, the North Delta Reporter, the Western Standard, the Delta Optimist and Darpan Magazine.

No campaign website was found. His Instagram account showed only a sign-in page, and his LinkedIn and Facebook pages need a sign-in, so nothing from them is used. The 2026 commitments on this page are the party's. An empty section records what voche.me did not find on this date.
