About Francoise Raunet

Elections BC lists Francoise Raunet as the BC Green Party candidate in Vancouver-Fraserview. Her party page, her campaign website and her union write her first name with a cedilla, Françoise. This page keeps the spelling on the Elections BC list. On the copy of the list stamped 11:00 p.m. Pacific time on September 30, 2026, she is the only candidate shown for the district. Nominations close at 1 p.m. on October 3, 2026.

She was the BC Green Party candidate in the same district in 2024. Elections BC's statement of votes gives her 1,290 votes (6.20 percent). George Chow of the BC NDP won with 11,896 votes (57.18 percent), and Jag S Sanghera of the Conservative Party had 7,618 votes (36.62 percent).

Official results show seven candidacies before 2024. For the BC Green Party she received 545 votes (3.42 percent) in the Vancouver-Point Grey by-election of 2011, 1,636 votes (6.77 percent) in Vancouver-Point Grey in 2013, and 1,969 votes (9.06 percent) in Vancouver-Fraserview in 2020. For the federal Green Party she received 2,376 votes (6.1 percent) in Richmond Centre in 2019 and 860 votes (2.2 percent) in Steveston-Richmond East in 2021. In Vancouver's civic elections, with no party beside her name, she received 5,891 votes for city council in 2018 and 1,116 votes for mayor in 2022. Each of these results shows other candidates elected.

The Vancouver Elementary and Adult Educators' Society describes itself as the union of elementary teachers, associated professionals and adult educators in the Vancouver school district. Its executive committee page lists her as one of four vice-presidents for 2025 to 2026.

The party's candidate page says she is on leave from classroom teaching while she holds that union post. It says her jobs with the Vancouver School Board have included school support worker, resource teacher, French immersion teacher and district curriculum support teacher. It also says she worked in educational publishing in Taipei, Taiwan, for five years, and that she holds a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Arts in international studies. voche.me has not checked these with the school district or the universities.

Her campaign website, votefrancoise.com, asks people to vote for her as the BC Greens candidate in Vancouver-Fraserview on October 24. On 2026-09-30 its Meet Francoise and Action pages still carried the text of her 2022 run for mayor of Vancouver, so voche.me treats those two pages as 2022 material. voche.me has not contacted the campaign.

Policies, budgets & programs

voche.me found no elected public office held by her in the sources read on 2026-09-30, and so found no voting record to review. Her results as a candidate, taken from the official results, are listed under her experience. No dated action that earns a record point was found.

No reviewed entries have been added to this section yet. This is a research gap, not a finding about the candidate.

Talks, interviews & statements

Interview

Speaks to the Richmond News on federal election night

As the Green candidate in Richmond Centre, she said her goal had been to share the party's platform with people in Richmond. She said many Canadians do not get the government they vote for under the current voting system, and that she hoped for a minority government because it makes parties work together.

Interview

Speaks to the Richmond News after her federal nomination

She said her main concern was an economic model she called unsustainable, and that she wanted more funding sent straight to municipalities so that they decide how to spend it.

Statement

Writes in the Georgia Straight as the Vancouver-Point Grey candidate

In an article under her own name she asked Point Grey voters to elect her. She called for electoral reform and for a gradual change to an economy that does not depend on endless growth.

No news report about her 2026 candidacy was found on 2026-09-30, and a search of the BC Green Party website found no 2026 release that names her. The party's candidate page says there are no upcoming events, and no all-candidates meeting for Vancouver-Fraserview was found. Her campaign website has a new home page for 2026, but its Meet Francoise and Action pages still carry the text of her 2022 run for mayor, so nothing on those two pages is counted as a 2026 commitment. Her Facebook page, linked from the party page, showed only its title to a direct read. Her X profile showed its header, which names her as the BC Greens candidate for the district, and three older posts; the rest needs a sign-in, so no X post is used. voche.me read the 66 posts and reposts that her public Bluesky account returned and found none about this election. Her jobs with the Vancouver School Board, her leave from teaching, her work in Taipei and her three degrees are stated by the party only and were not checked with the school district, an employer or the universities. Her union's page gives the 2025 to 2026 executive but no date for when she became a vice-president. The City of Vancouver's results files returned HTTP 403 to direct requests and were read from Internet Archive copies saved on 2026-08-18. voche.me searched the 2009 and 2017 provincial statements of votes and did not find her surname. It did not search the official results of other elections, so candidacies other than the eight listed here may exist. Her campaign website's media page links to further 2011, 2013, 2018 and 2019 reports, a 2013 Radio-Canada interview and a 2019 debate video; voche.me opened five of these reports and did not open the rest. Two 2024 pages about the district, from Vancouver Is Awesome and Business in Vancouver, returned HTTP 403 and were not read. VoteMate's 2026 page for the district did not list her on this date. Campaign finances and endorsements were not reviewed. The questionnaire has not been sent.
