About Ed Ewald

Elections BC's candidate list shows Ed Ewald as the Christian Heritage Party of BC candidate in Bulkley Valley-Stikine for the election of October 24, 2026. The list shows only nominations that Elections BC has accepted. The other two candidates listed for the district are Frankie Abel (BC NDP) and Sharon Hartwell (Conservative Party).

His candidate page on the party's website says he was born and raised in Smithers. It says he worked on farms and in a sawmill, then on a dairy farm for more than 20 years, then ran his own dairy farm business for 10 years, and now works in local hardware sales. It names no employer. voche.me has not checked these roles.

The same page says he has been involved with the party for 40 years and is its president. The party's board page lists him as president, with a Telkwa location, and Elections BC's register of political parties, dated October 3, 2026, lists him as the party's contact. The party page also says he is president of his church council and served on the board of a Christian school. It names neither the church nor the school, so voche.me has not checked those roles.

In 2024 the party's candidate in this district was Rod Taylor, who received 239 votes (2.50 percent) in Elections BC's statement of votes. That statement lists no candidate named Ed Ewald in any district, and BC Ballot's page on him records no earlier run, term or finance report. voche.me found no elected office in his record.

voche.me has not contacted the campaign. The commitments below are the party's platform text, apart from the one sentence in his own candidate statement.

No website, social media account or statement of his own outside the party's candidate page was found on 2026-10-03. His party page names no employer, church or school, so his work history, church council role and school board role are unchecked. His roles as party president and the party's contact come from the party's board page and Elections BC's register of political parties; the party's own candidate page repeats the presidency. The party's candidate page gives his financial agent's contact details, which are not copied. His VoteMate page has no profile or promises. The party's Facebook, Instagram and X pages answered a direct request, but no post was read there, so none is used. No 2026 all-candidates meeting in the district was found, and the party's events page lists none for him. The Smithers Interior News article on the 2026 local election ballot names a Telkwa council candidate called Lee Ewald, who no source ties to him and who is not used. My Bulkley Lakes Now articles on the 2026 Telkwa candidates and on candidate forums returned HTTP 403, so they were not read. Campaign finances and endorsements were not found.
