Daniel Anderson was elected to District of North Vancouver Council on October 17, 2026. The District's official count gives him 8,233 votes, sixth of the 15 candidates for six seats, the last of those elected. The Chief Election Officer declared the result on October 19, 2026. His name is printed as Dan Anderson in the North Shore News questionnaire.
The North Shore Local reported in May 2026 that he had served on the North Vancouver School District board since his election as trustee in 2022, that he chaired the board's audit committee, and that for two years he had been spokesperson for the North Shore Neighbourhoods Alliance, a coalition of seven community associations, pressing for provincial relief and an independent public inquiry into the cost of the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant. It reported, from his news release, that he holds graduate degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Toronto and teaches Design to middle and secondary school students.
On election night he told the North Shore News that the core issues he had identified were cost of living, transportation, congestion and infrastructure keeping pace with population growth.
His campaign platform says he would petition Victoria to repeal Bill 44 and restore municipal authority over community planning, and that he would donate every dollar he earns from Metro Vancouver back to the District. His VoteMate page lists 31 promises, among them a redesign of Keith Road and Mountain Highway, an audit of services so property tax increases stay small, and a ban on private fireworks.
