Tammy Hansen was elected to Delta Council on October 17, 2026. The City of Delta's official count gives her 14,413 votes, second among the 20 council candidates, and the Chief Election Officer declared her elected on October 21, 2026. The North Delta Reporter reported that this was 8.66 per cent of the ballots cast for councillor. On election night she told the Reporter that her team had not expected the result, that people were ready for a change and fresh ideas, and that Delta First would work with the other councillors elected.
The Reporter reported on March 11, 2026 that she was one of three council candidates announced with Delta First, a new organization led by mayoral candidate Melissa Granum, and described her as a CPA. Elections BC's Register of Elector Organizations by Jurisdiction, as of October 30, 2026, names her as Delta First's authorized principal official. The Reporter's election night report says the Delta First team had never held public office before.
By her own account, on the Delta First site, in the statement she gave the Delta Optimist and in the Reporter's questionnaire, she is a senior chartered professional accountant at Cran and Company in Delta, where she prepares tax returns, audits and financial statements for individuals, businesses and non-profits, and before that she was a cash management accountant in the treasury department of Coast Capital Savings Credit Union. She says she has lived in Ladner for more than 30 years, served the Rotary Club of Ladner as its Next Generation youth director and then as treasurer, coached girls' softball, sat on the executive of the Delta Fastpitch Association for more than ten years, and is a board member and treasurer of the Step Forward Health Society. voche.me has not checked these with the firm, the club or the societies.
In the Reporter's questionnaire she named three priorities: protecting taxpayer dollars through disciplined budgeting and financial transparency, preserving local character while growth is well planned, and restoring public trust with open decision-making and Council integrity. She wrote that she would champion balanced budgets, conduct thorough reviews of spending, and put essential infrastructure ahead of unnecessary expenditures. In her statement to the Optimist she added that she would support Delta First's plan for city-supported health-care spaces to attract family doctors and mental health clinicians.
Delta First's platform, released on September 8, 2026, and its First 90 Days plan of June 22, 2026 carry the team's promises: an enforceable Council code of conduct, the return of public question period, citizen advisory committees, a zero-based review of the City budget, a public review of the Official Community Plan and a challenge to the Province's Bill 44 housing rules. Those are the organization's promises, and this page lists them as such.
