Samtou Tchamdja · campaign websiteCandidate for Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est trustee in Zone 6 (Wards 12, 14, 15 and 17); the board’s minutes show her as chair of its Parent Involvement Committee from December 2023, and the City’s list shows she moved here from a nomination for the public French board.
Samtou Tchamdja is on the City of Ottawa’s list of certified candidates for trustee of the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE, the French Catholic school board) in Zone 6, which covers City Wards 12, 14, 15 and 17, with a nomination filed on August 20, 2026. Ottawa municipal electionThe City of Ottawa’s list of certified candidates for the CECCE, last updated September 9, 2026, shows Samtou Tchamdja in Zone 6 with a nomination filed on August 20, 2026, and gives her a website. The City’s open data file, last changed on August 29, 2026, shows two rows for her. One is a nomination for the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO), Zone 10, filed on July 17, 2026, with a withdrawal filed on August 20, 2026. The other is the CECCE Zone 6 nomination filed on August 20, 2026, with no withdrawal. voche.me states the change of office only as these two rows show it. The other nominations in the CECCE zone are by David Elisma (May 6, 2026), Michel Charron (July 10, 2026) and Jaycob Jacques (August 20, 2026).
The board’s page on volunteer parents lists the members of its Parent Involvement Committee for 2025-2026, which advises the board on ways to strengthen parent participation, and the name Samtou Tchamdja appears there under two sector headings, Secteur Est and Secteur Sud. The page also posts the committee’s minutes. They record her as present at the meeting of October 22, 2025 and as moving or seconding motions from May 9, 2022. The minutes of December 11, 2023 record the adoption of a motion, brought by J. Béchard and seconded by L. Vincent, that Mme Samtou Tchamdja be declared chair of the committee for the period from December 11, 2023 until the next annual organizing meeting in November 2024. The minutes of December 16, 2024 call her the outgoing chair and record that she presented the committee’s 2024 annual report. The committee is advisory and she is not a trustee.
Her campaign website, in French and English, says she is running for school trustee in Zone 6 to be an accessible, engaged and constructive voice for families, and that she has been involved in her children’s school life and in the CECCE community for several years. It says she has taken part in school councils since 2019 and chaired the Parent Involvement Committee. The board’s minutes confirm the chair role from December 2023. The 2019 start rests on her statement alone. The website’s page title reads “Conseillère scolaire, Zone 6”, which means school trustee, while its text says she is a candidate. The board’s page of trustees does not list her, so she is not a trustee now.
The website lists five priorities: student success and well-being, a strong voice for parents, inclusive and accessible schools, a forward-looking French-language Catholic education, and preparing students for tomorrow’s world, including digital and artificial intelligence literacy, critical thinking and creativity. These are the campaign’s statements. The sources read hold no complaint or allegation about her.

Samtou Tchamdja · campaign websiteEvidence reviewed on October 7, 2026: the City’s list of certified candidates for the CECCE (an Internet Archive copy of the page last updated September 9, 2026), the City’s open data file of nominations (the CECCE and CEPEO rows for her) and its 2022 results for CECCE Zone 6, which do not name her, the board’s Table politique page, the board’s page with the Parent Involvement Committee members and its minutes from May 9, 2022 to October 22, 2025, her campaign website, and the VoteMate listing. CTV News Ottawa’s guide to school board candidates, published September 9, 2026 and updated October 5, 2026, was also read; it lists the candidate by name under the CECCE and quotes nothing.
Gaps. Her participation in school councils since 2019 comes from her campaign only. The minutes name her as a parent member but do not say which school she represents. The City list gives a website only, and no social media account. The CEPEO withdrawal was read in the City’s open data file, which records only the dates, and no source gives her reason for the change. A general web search engine was not available during this research, so the name search used the websites of Radio-Canada, ONFR, VoteMate, the board and the campaign only. Radio-Canada and ONFR returned nothing about her. The voche.me questionnaire has not been sent.
The committee’s minutes record her moving or seconding motions from May 9, 2022 and present on October 22, 2025, and the board lists her among the 2025-2026 members.
