About Réda Lounis
The City of Ottawa’s open data file of nominated candidates (workbook of August 29, 2026), sheet CEPEO, shows Réda Lounis in Zone 10 with a nomination filed on August 21, 2026 and no withdrawal. The other nomination in the zone is Mathieu Fleury, filed on August 14, 2026. CTV News Ottawa’s guide to the school board races lists Zone 10 as Wards 12 and 13, and lists his name without a link. The board’s election page names the area of sector 10 as Rideau-Vanier and Rideau-Rockcliffe, and shows August 21, 2026 as the last day to file a candidacy.
Le Droit reported on August 25, 2026 that Réda Lounis was the only other declared candidate in Zone 10 when nominations closed on Friday, and that he filed on that same day. The Ottawa Citizen, in an article republished by Yahoo News Canada, also gives his filing date as August 21. Neither article quotes him or describes his work or background.
The City’s 2022 sheet for Zone 10 shows the race as it was then. Sonia Boudreault received 2,285 of the 2,982 votes, Warsama Aden 375 and Joseph-Alphonse André 322, and the board’s release of October 25, 2022 names Boudreault as elected for sector 10. The name Réda Lounis does not appear on that sheet. Le Droit and the Ottawa Citizen report that Boudreault is not running in 2026.
VoteMate lists Réda Lounis for Zone 10 with a note that no profile has been uploaded and no promises added. No public office is on record in the profile, and the sources read hold no complaint or allegation about him.

What voche.me has checked
Evidence reviewed on October 7, 2026: the City’s open data file of nominations, the City’s 2022 official results for CEPEO Zone 10, the board’s election page and its release of October 25, 2022, the Le Droit article of August 25, 2026, the Ottawa Citizen article of August 22, 2026 as republished by Yahoo News Canada, and the VoteMate listing, which holds no profile text. CTV News Ottawa’s guide to school board candidates, published September 9, 2026 and updated October 5, 2026, was also read; it lists him by name under the CEPEO and quotes nothing.
Gaps. The City’s page for the CEPEO could not be read, so any website or accounts that he gave the City are unknown. No campaign website, social media account or statement from him was found, so his background and priorities are unknown. A general web search tool was not available, so a page that only a general search would find may exist. An empty section records only that nothing was found, and he may have statements that voche.me has not seen. The voche.me questionnaire has not been sent.
