The City of Ottawa’s list of certified and acclaimed candidates for the CECCE, last updated September 9, 2026, shows Johanne Lacombe as the acclaimed candidate in Zone 9 (Ward 1), with a nomination filed on May 6, 2026. The City’s open data file shows her as the only nomination in the zone and shows no withdrawal. The City list gives her a Facebook page and no website.
The board’s Table politique page lists Johanne Lacombe, chair, as the trustee for sector 9, named as Orléans-Est-Cumberland, and names six schools that the sector serves: École élémentaire catholique Arc-en-ciel, École élémentaire catholique des Pionniers, École élémentaire catholique Reine-des-Bois, École élémentaire catholique d’enseignement personnalisé La Source, École secondaire catholique Béatrice-Desloges and École secondaire catholique Garneau. The board’s notice for its public meeting of September 8, 2026 names her as chair. The board’s release of November 18, 2025 says the trustees re-elected her chair for an 11th consecutive term, and says she is also president of the Fédération nationale des conseils scolaires francophones, president of the Consortium Centre Jules-Léger and a member of the board of directors of the Association franco-ontarienne des conseils scolaires catholiques. A release of April 16, 2026 says she won the 2026 Femmes remarquables d’Ottawa award in the community category and has been chair since 2015.
In an ONFR interview of May 18, 2019, she said she ran for trustee in 2010. The interviewer’s questions state that she was the board’s communications manager from 2002 to 2005 and had been chair since 2015, and she did not dispute them. ONFR reported that she had received the Saphir for female personality of the year on May 11, 2019. ONFR wrote on October 8, 2025 that she was one of seven Franco-Ontarians to be made Knights of the Ordre de la Pléiade, and that she had been chair since 2010. The board and ONFR’s 2019 interview say 2015, so the date of 2010 in ONFR’s 2025 article differs from them. voche.me did not check any of the awards with the bodies that give them.
Radio-Canada reported on August 19, 2022 that eight school board candidates were elected without opposition, and it named Johanne Lacombe among them. The City’s 2022 results sheet for CECCE Zone 9 holds no votes and carries the line “Acclaimed”, which means nobody ran against the candidate. ONFR of November 1, 2016 quotes her as chair of the board, in a release on the lack of provincial money for two school projects, saying the board would keep telling provincial elected officials and the Ministry of Education about its building needs and would ask for explanations of the criteria used to fund new schools. In the board’s release of November 18, 2025, she is quoted saying that eleven terms are eleven years of trust and collaboration, and that she wants to keep supporting students, their families and all staff who work for their success.
voche.me found no recorded vote by her. The board’s page of public meetings shows the notice and agenda of its next meetings and no minutes of past meetings. voche.me found no 2026 campaign statement from her and no complaint or allegation against her in the sources read.
