The City of Ottawa’s open data file shows Cindy Desclouds-Simpson’s nomination for trustee of the Ottawa Catholic School Board in Zone 10 dated May 4, 2026, with no withdrawal. The other nomination in the zone is Cameron Bonesso, dated May 1, 2026. CTV News Ottawa’s guide of September 9, 2026 lists both, marks neither as acclaimed, and links her name to her campaign website. The City’s page for this board could not be read, so voche.me relies on the open data file.
The board’s trustee page lists Cindy Simpson as Vice-Chair, Zone 10, which covers Ward 12 Rideau-Vanier, Ward 13 Rideau-Rockcliffe and Ward 14 Somerset. The board’s release of November 12, 2024 names Trustee Cindy Desclouds-Simpson as Vice-Chair, representing Zone 10 and the board’s virtual schools. Its release of November 15, 2022 says Trustee Cindy Simpson was acclaimed Vice-Chair, that it was her second term of office, and that she was a retired principal and former executive director of the Youville Centre. The City’s official results for the October 24, 2022 election give Cindy Desclouds-Simpson 1,296 of the 2,173 votes cast in the Zone 10 race, which is 59.6 percent, against 877 for Cameron Bonesso.
Her campaign website says she is the incumbent, trustee for the last 8 years and Vice-Chair for the last 4 years, with over 40 years of experience in Catholic education, a master’s degree in educational administration, 20 years in the classroom, 13 years as a school administrator and 6 years as executive director of the Youville Centre. It lists a 2015 “Community Builder of the Year for Growing Up Great” award and a 2009 commendation from the board’s Director of Education. These are the campaign’s statements about itself, and voche.me has not checked the awards or the length of service. A 2018 article in the Sandy Hill community newspaper IMAGE lists her as a candidate for Zone 10 in that year’s election.
The site says that in 2026 she voted against removing bus monitors on June 23, and voted against changes to the virtual schools on March 11, 2026. The board’s release of June 23, 2026 and CTV News Ottawa of June 24, 2026 report that the trustees voted unanimously on June 23 to rescind the cut to bus attendant positions, and CTV News Ottawa reports that the board called the cut an operational decision that was not brought to the trustees. Neither source names how individual trustees voted. The board’s Board Motions Registry runs to the meeting of June 9, 2026 and holds no entry for March 11 or June 23, 2026, so voche.me could not check the virtual schools vote. The registry names her as mover or seconder of motions from September 9, 2025 to June 9, 2026 and lists no vote counts. Her opponent’s campaign website criticises a January 2026 vote on executive pay, and voche.me found no record that shows how she voted on it.
voche.me found no complaint or allegation about her in the sources read.
