These are Elections BC's numbers as of 1:49 a.m. Pacific on October 25, 2026, with all 65 ballot boxes reported. The margin between first and second place is 466 votes.

These numbers are preliminary. Elections BC does not count mail-in, telephone or absentee ballots on election night. Those ballots go through extra checks and are counted about two weeks later. The final count is set for November 6, 2026.

## What the final count means

Mail-in and absentee ballots are not yet included in these totals. In a riding with a preliminary margin of 466 votes, those ballots could narrow or widen the gap before Elections BC issues the official result.

Elections BC said that as of 1:49 a.m. Pacific on October 25, all 65 ballot boxes in Kootenay Central had reported in the preliminary count. The counting-complete label on the district means all election-night ballot boxes have been counted. It does not mean the count is final: mail-in, absentee and telephone voting ballots are processed separately in the two weeks after voting day.

Every voter in Kootenay Central can track the count as it stands at results.elections.bc.ca, updated every three minutes during counting periods. The district page on this site, [/bc/provincial-2026/races/mla/kootenay-central](/bc/provincial-2026/races/mla/kootenay-central), lists all four candidates. Elections BC's final count is November 6, 2026.
