Five parcels of public land would be chosen, named and announced with a timeline within one month of entering City Hall. The party also publishes an affordability definition rather than leaving the word undefined: new public housing would target no more than 30% of household income. Its faith-based land policy is unusual. Vote Vancouver would introduce a right-of-first-refusal bylaw giving the city first opportunity to buy qualifying faith-based properties when they come to market, and would help faith organisations that want to redevelop rather than sell. What does "30% of household income" mean? It is a definition of affordable. A household earning $60,000 a year would pay no more than $18,000 a year, or $1,500 a month, for a home built under this policy.
