## The aim of Education, in the party's words

> Vote Vancouver will improve education by:

Vote Vancouver's education list sits inside the Public Services section, on pages 26 and 27 of its Policy Priorities. It is the plan the party's School Board candidates run on. The chapters on this site cover student support, food and after-school activities, technology and staffing, and school buildings.

The party would push for more school counsellors and faster neurodivergence assessments, and close the gap between individual education plans and the help students get in class. It would expand school nutrition programs with a shared cost plan, set rules for AI tools and restrict cellphones in younger grades. It would keep School Liaison Officers but have them work out of uniform and with counsellors, and it would audit elementary school grounds and keep seismic upgrades on pace.

The Board of Education runs Vancouver public schools and approves the district budget, so it can act on programs, rules and staffing. Teacher pay and the funding formula are set by the Province, and the party itself says it would advocate to the Province for counsellors and assessments. Funding for school buildings is shared between the Province and school boards.
