## What is in the Vote Vancouver Policy Priorities

**37**Pages in the party's PDF

**127**Commitments, each with its own page number

**22**Chapters across six sections

**6**Commitments that need the province, Ottawa or a regional body to act

Vote Vancouver calls its 2026 platform "Policy Priorities." The party published it as one PDF of 37 pages, marked version 1.1 on its last page. After a land acknowledgement, a page of candidates and an introduction about its mayoral candidate Rebecca Bligh, it has four sections: Housing and Belonging, Transportation Choice, Public Services and Economic Drivers.

These pages split the document into chapters. The Public Services section mixes council, school and park topics, so we gave its education and parks lists their own sections, filed under the School Board and the Park Board. Each chapter page lists every commitment in the party's own order, with the PDF page it comes from, so you can check the wording yourself.

We added one thing the PDF does not give: which government would have to act on each commitment, and why. The introduction also sets out what the party calls The Vancouver Test, four questions it says every policy must pass before Vote Vancouver will make it a priority.

### This is the party describing its own plans

The Policy Priorities is a campaign document. We checked it on September 30, 2026. Every page in this section reports what the party says it would do, gives the PDF page for each commitment, and adds who would have to act. voche.me wrote these pages. The party did not write or approve them.

WHO WOULD HAVE TO ACT

## Which government each commitment depends on

The platform does not say which government holds each power. We added it for every commitment. City Council, the Park Board and the School Board are the three bodies on the October 17 ballot. Where a commitment needs the province, the federal government or a regional body, the party can only ask.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

## Questions about the Policy Priorities

<details>

<summary>What is in Vote Vancouver's 2026 platform?

</summary>

Vote Vancouver's platform, titled Policy Priorities, has four sections: Housing and Belonging, Transportation Choice, Public Services and Economic Drivers. Public Services also holds the party's education and parks plans. Each section is split into chapters on this site, and every commitment carries its page in the party's PDF.

<details>

<summary>Who are Vote Vancouver's candidates in the 2026 Vancouver election?

</summary>

Rebecca Bligh is Vote Vancouver's candidate for mayor. John Boychuk, Rebecca Hasdell, Steve Jedreicich, Keerit Jutla, Bhavna Solecki and Geoff Teoli are running for City Council. Stephen Menon and Summit Wannamaker are running for Park Board, and Amarys Joseph, Mandy Potter and Tasha Doucas for School Board (Policy Priorities, page 5).

<details>

<summary>What is the Vancouver Test in Vote Vancouver's platform?

</summary>

The Vancouver Test is a set of four questions Vote Vancouver says it applies to policy: does it improve service or meet an urgent need, does it strengthen Vancouver's long-term future, does it build public trust, and can residents measure whether it worked. The party says a policy that fails the test will not be a priority for it (Policy Priorities, page 8).

<details>

<summary>How does Vote Vancouver say it would pay for its platform?

</summary>

The Economic Drivers section is the party's answer. It would end what it calls the current 0% property tax freeze and replace it with predictable property tax increases, use the Vancouver Affordable Housing Endowment Fund with city land, and ask other governments for more money. It also proposes business incentives in the Downtown Eastside (Policy Priorities, pages 33 to 36).

<summary>Where can I read the Vote Vancouver platform PDF?

</summary>

Vote Vancouver publishes the Policy Priorities PDF on its own website, votevancouver.ca. On this site, every commitment names the page of that PDF it comes from, so you can read the party's own wording next to our summary.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Could Vote Vancouver carry out its whole platform if it wins?

</summary>

Some commitments are within the power of City Council, the Park Board or the School Board. Others depend on TransLink, the Province or the federal government, and the platform itself says it would advocate to them. A council decision also needs six of the eleven votes. Each commitment on these pages is labelled with the body that would have to act.

<summary>Who wrote these pages about the Vote Vancouver platform?

</summary>

voche.me, an independent guide to the 2026 Vancouver election, wrote these pages from the party's own PDF. Vote Vancouver did not write or approve them. Every commitment is reported as something the party says it would do.

## Other parties

We build a section like this for any party on the Vancouver ballot that publishes a full platform document. Every party is also covered on the same ten issues, side by side, so a shorter platform is compared on equal terms.
