OneCity's Park Board candidates, John Irwin, Tyler Petersen and Dominic Denofrio, published their plan on September 29, 2026. The Our Plans page groups it with the schools plan under one heading, Better Schools, Parks, Pipes, & Pools in Every Neighbourhood. Here the parks plan has its own section, because the Park Board is a separately elected body with its own vote. The plan covers money, nature and swimming. The party would let the Park Board keep its own revenue, grow park land and the tree canopy, bring buried creeks back to the surface, keep pools and beaches staffed, and build new pools in three neighbourhoods. The party says the plan also covers "the boring basics underneath" parks and pools, and the city's pipe repairs appear in its budget plan. The Park Board runs pools, beaches and parks, but the money for new buildings comes through the capital plan that City Council approves. **1**Chapters **4**Commitments **0**Need another government or a regional body 1 CHAPTERS ## Every chapter in Better Parks, Pipes, & Pools [

How would OneCity make the Park Board more independent? OneCity's Park Board candidates propose an Evergreen Funding Model to make it more independent over time, including letting it keep the revenue it earns (OneCity Parks, Pipes, & Pools plan, September 29, 2026).
What would OneCity do about buried creeks in Vancouver? Under ReWild Vancouver, OneCity would bring up to three creek systems buried under city streets back to the surface, grow urban meadows and add park land (OneCity Parks, Pipes, & Pools plan, September 29, 2026).
