The Weizhen Tang Mayoral Campaign published a six-area governance document on October 16, ten days before Toronto's municipal election. The document groups the campaign's city management proposals into areas covering program reviews, city assets, procurement, economic development, business approvals and housing coordination.

The campaign calls the document the Quantitative Fiscal Restructuring and Governance Framework. In a press release distributed through Newsfile Corp, the campaign says the document is intended to give voters, media and community groups a single reference for the campaign's municipal policy priorities. The release describes it as a campaign policy paper rather than an adopted City of Toronto policy.

The six areas the campaign names are:

- Periodic reviews that would connect selected city programs with stated service measures
- A consolidated record of city-owned land, buildings and other public assets
- Standardized public reporting on major contracts and project milestones
- Municipal economic-development coordination covering trade, investment and supply-chain information
- A coordinated permit-tracking process for small businesses
- Coordination among housing, permitting, community services and city asset administration

The campaign says the document brings proposals it had already made on those topics into a single administrative framework.

According to the press release, Tang is one of 53 candidates certified by the City Clerk for the 2026 mayoral election. He also ran in Toronto's 2023 mayoral by-election.

The release also cited City-reported advance voting figures. The campaign says the City reported 222,550 eligible voters cast ballots during six days of advance voting from October 6 to 11: 36,743 on October 6; 31,018 on October 7; 28,666 on October 8; 33,579 on October 9; 39,181 on October 10; and 53,363 on October 11. The City of Toronto confirmed in its own October 13 press release that the 2026 advance turnout was a new record. By comparison, the campaign cited 129,745 advance votes in the 2023 by-election and 115,911 in the 2022 election.

Voting day is Monday, October 26, 2026. Voting places are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can find their assigned voting place at the City's toronto.ca/elections page.
