Eleven candidates are on the City of Toronto's certified list for Ward 13 Toronto Centre. CityNews Toronto reported on 15 October 2026 on the race, identifying housing, homelessness, drug use, public safety, transit, policing and green space as the main issues voters are weighing with 10 days until voting day.

The incumbent is [Chris Moise](/on/toronto-2026/candidates/chris-moise), a small business owner who has spent 30 years in the community and chaired the City's public health committee for four years. According to CityNews Toronto, Ward 13 had four of the largest encampments in the Greater Toronto Area during his term as councillor.

Two challengers have drawn particular attention in the final stretch of the campaign. [Curran Stikuts](/on/toronto-2026/candidates/curran-stikuts) previously worked as director of advocacy for the 519 Community Centre, which serves the LGBTQ+ community and other residents in Church-Wellesley Village. MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam, who represented Ward 13 as city councillor before her election to Queen's Park, has endorsed Stikuts. According to CityNews Toronto, his endorsements also include George Smitherman and the Toronto Labour Council.

[Daniel Tate](/on/toronto-2026/candidates/daniel-tate) founded the IntegrityTO advocacy group. CityNews Toronto identified him as one of the key challengers in the 11-candidate race.

The ward covers Church-Wellesley Village, Moss Park, Regent Park and surrounding downtown neighbourhoods. CityNews Toronto reports that housing and homelessness, alongside drug use and calls for improved public safety, have shaped the debate in a ward that saw a high concentration of encampments in recent years. Transit, policing and green space round out the issues candidates have addressed.

The race has 11 candidates on the City's certified list as of the date CityNews Toronto reviewed it. Voters can see all certified candidates and check their profiles at the [Ward 13 Toronto Centre race page](/on/toronto-2026/races/councillor/ward-13-toronto-centre). Advance voting ran from 6 to 11 October 2026. Voting day is 26 October 2026, and voters who have not yet confirmed their voting place can use the City of Toronto's online tool at toronto.ca.
