Sara Ehrhardt won the Ward 14 Toronto-Danforth seat on October 26, receiving 22,440 votes, Beach Metro Community News reported. That was 48.78 per cent of votes cast in the ward, in a race with 18 candidates.

Runner-up Mary Fragedakis received 10,425 votes (22.66%). Dianne Saxe finished third with 3,857 votes (8.38%). The ward had been represented by Paula Fletcher for 23 years before she chose not to run in 2026.

## Who is Sara Ehrhardt

Ehrhardt served as a Toronto District School Board trustee for the same community from 2022 to 2026. After her win, Beach Metro Community News reported her saying her success came from "my record of service and the community being responsive as an elected school trustee."

"What this means for our public services, tenants' rights, and for all of our well-being is just so huge, and I am so excited to get to serve a term with Mayor Olivia Chow," Ehrhardt said at her election night gathering at The Duke on Queen Street East in Leslieville, according to Beach Metro Community News.

She said her immediate first step as councillor would be to hear directly from residents about their priorities.

## What Ehrhardt campaigned on

Her campaign focused on affordability, reliable transit, community safety, and reducing congestion in the ward, Beach Metro Community News said. Ehrhardt brought a background in public education from her time as a TDSB trustee.

The vote was final with all 61 polls reporting in the ward. Third-place finisher Dianne Saxe received 3,857 votes (8.38%), and Susan Chapelle and Maria Voutsinas each received 1,658 and 1,675 votes respectively. Ward 14 had 18 candidates on the ballot, one of the largest fields in the city.

Ehrhardt now takes a seat at Toronto City Hall alongside six other new councillors who were elected Monday. The new council is set to meet for the first time in the coming weeks.
