A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 18, 2026. It gives no campaign website for him. The Centennial Community and Recreation Association (CCRA) published a listing of the Ward 25 candidates on October 1, 2026 that reads as text the candidates supplied. For Stavrev it says he has spent his whole life in Scarborough, is the first in his family to obtain a college diploma, in Liberal Arts, and has worked in the financial sector selling life insurance. It says he is a strong advocate for police, fire and ambulance services and for no new taxes for Toronto homeowners, and that he is seeking provincial and federal funding for affordable housing in the city. These are the listing's words, and voche.me confirmed none of them. TTCriders' Ward 25 page records his answers to its 18 transit questions. He answered Yes to 16 and No to 2: the question on fully funding the 10-year TTC wayfinding strategy, and the question on working towards platform edge doors across the subway system, starting with busy stations like Bloor-Yonge this term. He gave no written comment. Build Canada's page lists him among the candidates who had not yet answered its questionnaire. The Local's 2026 tracker, updated September 21, 2026, says no platform for him is available online. It says a LinkedIn page for a person of the same name lists volunteer work for a federal political party, and that The Local could not confirm this is the candidate. voche.me found no source that ties that page to him, so none of it is used. The City Clerk's declarations of results for the 2022 general election and the 2025 by-election list no candidate named Vane Stavrev in any race.
