A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as June 23, 2026 and a campaign website, staceycline.ca. The City Clerk certified the results of the March 3, 2025 by-election and declared Stacey Cline the elected Trustee for Toronto District School Board Ward 11 (Don Valley West). A by-election is a vote held to fill a vacant seat between regular elections. The declaration of results lists her first among 10 candidates with 2,360 votes. The 10 declared totals add up to 4,591 votes, so her share was 51.4 percent, calculated by voche.me from those figures. The TDSB’s own news item says she took office on March 18, 2025, that trustees voted in December 2024 to hold a by-election to fill the vacant Ward 11 seat, and that the board’s trustee term ends on November 14, 2026. That 2025 result belongs to the old Ward 11 and is not treated as a result for the new Ward 6. Her campaign website describes her as a former TDSB classroom and English as a second language teacher of more than 10 years, a member of the Ontario College of Teachers, a former constituency assistant to the Honourable John Godfrey, MP, and someone who worked at an advertising firm representing arts and culture clients and later ran a consulting practice in children’s media programming. It lists parent voice, student supports, safe schools and academic achievement as her priorities. voche.me did not check the website’s other statements with the employers or bodies named. TDSB wards changed for 2026. Ward 6 covers City wards 5 (York South-Weston) and 8 (Eglinton-Lawrence). The City Clerk’s declaration of results for October 24, 2022 shows Liban Hassan elected in the old Ward 6 and Shelley Laskin elected in the old Ward 8, and the TDSB’s trustee list for 2018 to 2022 names the old Ward 6 as York South-Weston and the old Ward 8 as Eglinton-Lawrence and Toronto-St. Paul’s. Those results belong to the old wards and are not treated as results for the new Ward 6. The TDSB’s trustee wards page says that during provincial supervision the powers of trustees rest with the provincially appointed Supervisor, that trustees have no official duties with the board at this time, and that this also applies to trustees elected in October 2026. Her trustee role comes from the City Clerk’s results and the board’s own news item, and her earlier careers come from her website and are attributed to it. The 2022 old Ward 11 trustee, Rachel Chernos Lin, appears in the City Clerk’s 2022 results with 10,692 votes. The by-election followed a vacancy in that seat. voche.me gives no other reason for the vacancy because the pages it opened do not state one. The TDSB’s trustee wards page says that during provincial supervision trustees have no official duties with the board and that this also applies to trustees elected in October 2026. Gaps. Her Know Your Vote T.O. page lists a Facebook page and an Instagram account, staceyclinetrustee. The Instagram page opened as a login page showing only the account title, and the Facebook page returned no text, so nothing from either is used. No board minutes were opened, so no recorded vote is attributed to her. No news report quoting her was opened. Her website says she has lived in the new ward for 17 years, and that is her own statement. The questionnaire has not been sent.
