A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 20, 2026. It gives no campaign website. The Local’s Ward 11 tracker, updated as of September 21, 2026, says no information could be found online about him and that he had no platform available. On October 4, 2026 voche.me found the website paulviret.ca, headed “Paul Viret for Council”, which names him and Ward 11 University-Rosedale. The City’s list gives no address for it and no outlet opened by voche.me confirms it, so the link between that site and this candidate rests on the name and the ward on the site. The site’s Meet Paul section, the campaign’s own statement, says he is a small business owner and resident of Ward 11 who is not backed by a political dynasty, the wealthy or special interest groups, and that he has struggled with rising living costs. voche.me did not check these statements. The site’s policy pages say he would build smaller apartment buildings, including mass timber buildings of five to 10 storeys made with Canadian lumber, and would press the TTC for more fare inspectors, with inspection quotas. Its Unbreakable Promises page lists personal commitments: spending at least one afternoon a week cleaning a park or street in the ward, shovelling sidewalks for people who ask in winter, clearing storm drains in storms and answering all emails and phone calls. These are the campaign’s statements. Read the sources 02 / The issues ## Priorities & positions Campaign-source summary Summarized from the campaign’s published profile. [Paul Viret for Council · Unbreakable Promises ](https://paulviret.ca/unbreakable-promises/) Research status ## What voche.me has checked Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, its Members of Council page and the Ward 11 councillor’s profile, four pages of the website paulviret.ca (home, Housing, Transit and Unbreakable Promises), The Local’s Ward 11 tracker and The Green Line’s Ward 11 guide. No public office is on record in his profile. Every statement taken from the website is written as the campaign’s own account. The sitting Ward 11 councillor on the City’s Members of Council page is Dianne Saxe. The City’s candidate data records her as withdrawn from Ward 11 on August 21, 2026, and The Local and The Green Line report that she is running in Ward 14 Toronto-Danforth instead, so she is not on the Ward 11 ballot. The nine candidates for Ward 11 on the City’s list are Alice Li, Diana Yoon, Gian Pileri, Huy Lieu, Karina Lemke, Keenan Courtis, Mike Layton, Paul Viret and Terri Hawkes. Gaps. The City’s list gives no website for this candidate, and the site’s link to him rests on its own wording, so voche.me treats it as unconfirmed by any outside source. The Local reported on September 21 that it found no information, and voche.me cannot say when the site went up. The A.I. and Greenspaces pages were saved and not read. No social media account and no news report in which he speaks for himself was found. The questionnaire has not been sent.
