01 / Introduction

## About Mina Nadimi

Mina Nadimi appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Councillor in Ward 12 Toronto-St. Paul's. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as June 10, 2026 and no campaign website.

The Local’s Ward 12 tracker, updated as of September 21, 2026, says she has work experience in non-profits, retail management, administration and research, and that she stresses she is a “non-partisan” candidate. It lists her top issues as transportation, traffic gridlock, high rent prices, high property taxes and “underserved voters”. voche.me did not check her work history.

In answers published by Build Canada, she said Yes to permitting far more housing as of right (without a separate approval for each project), with the note that it depends on the ward map, No to requiring a person to leave an encampment, Yes to road pricing, and No to raising additional local revenue for infrastructure repair. She chose lighting, maintenance, sanitation and active use of streets and parks as the area for the most added public safety investment, and chose the option “Remain approximately constant after inflation” for the police budget.

In TTCriders’ questionnaire she is listed as answering Yes to a fare freeze and to a lower fare cap. She wrote that she believes the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) could be publicly owned with no fare increase, and that Toronto residents already pay a high amount for transit and should expect a system that is reliable, safe, affordable and accountable. Her focus, she wrote, would be fewer delays, faster repairs, clearer communication, dependable service and responsible use of public money.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, The Local’s Ward 12 tracker, Build Canada’s page of Ward 12 candidate answers, TTCriders’ page of Ward 12 candidate responses and the FASK.CITY candidate page, which held only the ballot record. The sitting Ward 12 councillor on the City’s Members of Council page is Josh Matlow. The City’s list gives no website for her, and no campaign website was found.

Gaps. The Local says a person with the name Mina Nadimi lists conference management experience on LinkedIn. No source ties that person to this candidate, so voche.me leaves it out. The answers on Build Canada and TTCriders are her own words as those sites published them. No news report that quotes her was found. The questionnaire has not been sent.
