A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as July 13, 2026 and the campaign website votekarina.ca. Her About page, the campaign’s own statement, calls her a lifelong Torontonian, entrepreneur, television personality, wedding planner and community advocate. It says she built a wedding and event planning business over more than a decade, owned a flower shop on Markham Street before that, was one of the original featured wedding planners on Rich Bride Poor Bride, and created and starred in HGTV Canada’s Petal Pushers. The Local’s Ward 11 tracker, updated as of September 21, 2026, confirms in its own words that she is a wedding planner who made regular appearances on Rich Bride Poor Bride. voche.me did not check the other credits. Her website says she decided to run after her own experience with City services, and says the rise in antisemitism in Toronto is a failure of civic leadership. The Local quotes the second statement from her site. Her home page letter, also the campaign’s own statement, says she is running because taxes keep rising while basic services decline, because open drug use is unsafe and people in crisis need treatment and housing, because traffic and road changes have been made without consultation, and because small businesses and people with disabilities and seniors are affected by City policies. It lists six platform areas: safe homes, streets and neighbourhoods; fixing the basics and fiscal responsibility; getting around Toronto; building neighbourhoods with the people who live there; small business; and ending antisemitism. The page names few figures, and voche.me did not check the figures it gives. [Karina Lemke · campaign home page ](https://votekarina.ca/) Research status ## What voche.me has checked Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, its Members of Council page and the Ward 11 councillor’s profile, two pages of her campaign website (home and About), The Local’s Ward 11 tracker and The Green Line’s Ward 11 guide. No public office is on record in her profile. Every statement taken from her campaign website is written as the campaign’s own account. The sitting Ward 11 councillor on the City’s Members of Council page is Dianne Saxe. The City’s candidate data records her as withdrawn from Ward 11 on August 21, 2026, and The Local and The Green Line report that she is running in Ward 14 Toronto-Danforth instead, so she is not on the Ward 11 ballot. The nine candidates for Ward 11 on the City’s list are Alice Li, Diana Yoon, Gian Pileri, Huy Lieu, Karina Lemke, Keenan Courtis, Mike Layton, Paul Viret and Terri Hawkes. Gaps.
