01 / Introduction

## About Jennifer Alexander

Jennifer Alexander appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Councillor in Ward 2 Etobicoke Centre. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as May 1, 2026 and the campaign website jenalexander.ca.

Her campaign website says she is a lifelong resident of Etobicoke Centre. It says that for ten years she has worked with residents across the ward, in community advocacy, non-profit consulting and engagement, on transportation, safety, housing and neighbourhood development. It says she founded The Etobicoke Voice, where she writes about local issues, and also writes This Mom Roars, which covers women in leadership and civic life. These are the campaign’s own statements, and voche.me has not checked them against another source.

The Local, in a candidate page updated as of September 21, 2026, says she writes the two newsletters, is on the steering committee of Walk Toronto, a pedestrian safety group, and is the volunteer coordinator at the Toronto Community Bikeways Coalition. voche.me did not check those roles with either group. The Local also says she has released a 180-day plan for the ward. voche.me did not find that plan on the pages it opened, so the plan is not summarized here.

The Etobicoke Voice, in a post of September 24, 2026, lists the three Etobicoke council races. It says that its founder, Jennifer Alexander, is a candidate in Ward 2, that the newsletter will keep its election coverage separate from the campaign as much as possible, and that she will say each time she shares an opinion piece.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, the home and Bio links pages of her campaign website, the About page and a September 24, 2026 post of The Etobicoke Voice, The Local’s Ward 2 candidate page and The Green Line’s Ward 2 guide. Name, office, ward and nomination date are as the City prints them. Every biography and priority statement comes from her own website or newsletter, or from The Local, and is written that way.

Gaps. Her roles with Walk Toronto and the Toronto Community Bikeways Coalition come from The Local and were not checked with the groups. The 180-day plan The Local mentions was not found on the pages opened. Her page on X loaded only a page title, so no post was readable. LinkedIn and the This Mom Roars newsletter were not opened. She holds no public office on the City’s record, so no council record applies. The questionnaire has not been sent.
