A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as May 21, 2026 and the campaign website jennieworden.ca. The City Clerk’s declaration of results for the October 24, 2022 general election lists Jennie Worden second among 7 candidates for Councillor in Ward 19 Beaches-East York, with 6,291 votes. The 7 declared totals add up to 27,728 votes, so her share was 22.7 percent, calculated by voche.me from those figures. Brad Bradford was elected with 15,169 votes. Her campaign website says she ran for councillor in 2022 and that over 6,000 residents voted for her, and The Local says she ran in Beaches-East York once before, in 2022, and came second. Those statements tie the Clerk’s entry to her. Her campaign website, the campaign’s own statement, says she is Communications and Program Manager at the Canadian Journalism Foundation, was for five years Executive Director of Orchestra Toronto, is a founding member of East Enders Against Racism, sits on the steering committee of Women in Toronto Politics, belongs to Toronto ACORN, and has sung with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir since 2011. The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir’s staff and board page carries a profile of a Jennie Worden that gives the same Canadian Journalism Foundation and Orchestra Toronto roles, and lists her as its Chorister Representative to the Board of Directors. The Local says she is on leave from the Foundation. voche.me did not check these roles with the Foundation, the orchestra or the other groups. Her platform page lists a top ten that includes a joint feasibility study with the Toronto District School Board for rebuilding Secord Elementary School and Secord Community Centre, repairs at 500 Dawes Road and other problem buildings, no jets at Billy Bishop Airport, faster streetcars through transit signal priority, a ward-wide safer streets plan, adding the Glen Stewart ravine and Taylor Creek to the Ravine Strategy, and turning the Coxwell-Danforth streetcar barns into community-led mixed-income housing. It says she would vote to fund community-led planning in 15 neighbourhoods in the 2027 budget. In her Beach Metro answers she supports sixplexes and secondary suites as of right and density along transit corridors. The Local says she has supported tenants at 500 Dawes Road. The campaign’s August 19, 2026 release, which is its own statement, quotes the chair of the Dawes Road ACORN Tenants’ Association saying she helped organize tenants there. TTCriders’ Ward 19 page records a Yes from her on all 18 of its transit questions, and Build Canada lists her among the 5 candidates who answered its questionnaire. Beach Metro lists her among the 12 candidates who confirmed they will attend its October 5 meet-and-greet. These are stated positions, not an assessment of results or a complete platform. 01 ### Local priorities, as her campaign states Her platform page lists a top ten for 2026 to 2030, among them a joint feasibility study for rebuilding Secord Elementary School and Secord Community Centre, repairs at 500 Dawes Road, lighting on the Martin Goodman Trail, fewer vacant storefronts, faster streetcars, a ward-wide safer streets plan, ravine protection, and year-round park washrooms. [Jennie Worden · Platform ](https://www.jennieworden.ca/platform) 02 ### Responsive leadership and community-led planning, as her campaign states Her platform page says her council office would host rotating office hours, set service standards for emails and calls, and employ caseworkers, and that she would vote to fund community-led planning in 15 neighbourhoods in the 2027 budget and expand participatory budgeting. [Jennie Worden · Platform ](https://www.jennieworden.ca/platform) 03 ### Main streets and small business, as her campaign states Her platform page says she would introduce a motion for a city-wide database of vacant and abandoned commercial properties and would work to make it easier to set up and keep a small business on local main streets. [Jennie Worden · Platform ](https://www.jennieworden.ca/platform) Research status ## What voche.me has checked Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates and Members of Council page, the City Clerk’s 2022 declaration of results, four pages of her campaign website (home, About Jennie, Platform and In the News, which carries a campaign release of August 19, 2026), a Toronto Mendelssohn Choir profile, Beach Metro’s Q&A with her, The Local’s Ward 19 tracker, Build Canada’s Ward 19 page, TTCriders’ Ward 19 page, The Green Line’s Ward 19 profile and its list of ward debates, and two further Beach Metro pieces on the race. No public office is on record in her profile. Every statement taken from her campaign website or from her own answers is written as her own account. Ward context. The City’s Members of Council page lists Brad Bradford as the Ward 19 Beaches-East York councillor. The City’s list of certified candidates shows him as a candidate for Mayor, and The Local, The Green Line and Beach Metro each report that he is running for mayor and not for the ward seat, so none of the 13 Ward 19 candidates is a sitting councillor. The 13 on the City’s list are Syeda Jaana Ali, James Dann, Nate Erskine-Smith, Fatima Ibrahimi, Natalie Johnson, Kevin Morrison, Karsten Riedel, Mohammad Shabani, Adam Smith, Austin Vieira, Jeff Wahl, Devin Wilkins and Jennie Worden. The City Clerk’s 2022 declaration of results for Ward 19 Beaches-East York lists 7 candidates: Brad Bradford (15,169 votes, elected), Jennie Worden (6,291), Adam Smith (1,902), Steven Thompson (1,735), Frank Marra (1,460), Donna Braniff (702) and Sébastien Auger (469). Of the 13 candidates, the Clerk’s 2022 Ward 19 table names two, Worden and Smith, and The Local says each of them ran there in 2022, in second and third place. No other 2026 Ward 19 candidate appears in that table. Build Canada’s Ward 19 page lists James Dann, Mohammad Shabani, Adam Smith, Austin Vieira and Jennie Worden as the 5 candidates who answered its questionnaire. TTCriders’ page shows answers to its 18 questions from 7 candidates (Ali, Dann, Erskine-Smith, Shabani, Smith, Wahl and Worden) and no response from the other 6. Beach Metro printed written answers from 11 of the 13 candidates on September 22, 2026. A candidate forum for Ward 19 was listed for September 28, 2026 at 5 Massey Square, organised by The Neighbourhood Organization, Don Valley Community Legal Services and the Taylor-Massey Oakridge Community Response Team, and Beach Metro lists a meet-and-greet at Beach United Church on October 5, 2026 that 12 candidates (all but Fatima Ibrahimi) confirmed they will attend. A listing records an invitation, and voche.me found no report of who took part in the forum. Gaps. Her roles at the Canadian Journalism Foundation and Orchestra Toronto, and her memberships, are her own account and the choir’s profile of her, and were not checked with those organizations. The 500 Dawes Road work comes from The Local and from her campaign’s release, and voche.me did not read a court or City record about that building, so it makes no statement about the building’s owner. Her Instagram profile opened and returned follower counts and thumbnails with no post text, so nothing from it is used, and her Facebook link and her Substack newsletter were not opened. Build Canada’s questionnaire answers from her were read only in part. The questionnaire has not been sent.
