A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as May 25, 2026 and the campaign website jamespasternak.com. The City’s Members of Council page lists Councillor James Pasternak for York Centre. His City profile says he was elected to City Council in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 and 2018, and says that before City Hall he was a Toronto District School Board trustee. The profile ends with the line “Information provided by the Councillor”, so these details are his own account, published on the City’s page. The page shows the date modified as July 31, 2026. It lists his committees and boards as the Infrastructure and Environment Committee, the Toronto Atmospheric Fund Board of Directors and the Committee of Revision. The City Clerk’s declaration of results for the October 24, 2022 general election lists James Pasternak first among 4 candidates for Councillor in Ward 6 York Centre, with 12,187 votes, marked elected. [James Pasternak · home page ](https://www.jamespasternak.com/) [City of Toronto · Councillor James Pasternak](https://www.toronto.ca/city-government/council/members-of-council/councillor-ward-6/) Research status ## What voche.me has checked Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, its Members of Council page and his Councillor profile, the City Clerk’s declaration of results for 2022, the home page of his campaign website (a single page), The Local’s Ward 6 candidate page and The Green Line’s Ward 6 guide. His role comes from the City’s own pages. Every statement taken from his campaign website is written as the campaign’s own account. The sitting Ward 6 councillor is James Pasternak. Gaps. The City’s decisions site refused every request (HTTP 403), so no recorded vote and no Council decision is cited. The Local describes several of his votes and motions, including his opposition to the 2023 Alcohol in Parks pilot and his proposal for a North York Relief Line. voche.me did not read those in the City’s records and does not repeat them. The Local also reports a November 2025 trip to Israel that he and Councillor Mike Colle took, with Israel paying part of the travel costs. voche.me looked for the councillors’ disclosure and the Integrity Commissioner’s record and could not read either, because TorontoToday’s report refused the request, so the trip is not described here. His X account, linked from his website, loads a page with no readable post text. The questionnaire has not been sent.
