A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as May 1, 2026 and shows no campaign website for the candidate. The Local describes Heather He as a real estate broker in Markham who ran for mayor in 2023. It says she reports being a founder of the Huafeng Yun Art Group, an arts and culture organization for seniors in Richmond Hill and Markham. According to The Local, her LinkedIn profile mentions safety and clean air as priorities, and she has shared many songs about Toronto that appear to be made with artificial intelligence. voche.me did not read her LinkedIn profile. Care Bank, a volunteer organization, says on its own website that she founded it in 2010 and registered the Canadian Care Alliance that year. The site describes Care Bank as a system in which people record the volunteer help they give so that they or others can receive help later. In 2023, The Local described her as the chairwoman of the Canada Care Alliance, an organization that advocates for helping vulnerable groups. A profile of her on the Care Bank site refers to the June 26 vote of the 2023 by-election, so it appears to have been written for that campaign. It says she planned free lunches for elementary and secondary students, better road maintenance, housing for people who are homeless, and free transit for older residents. These are her 2023 pledges. voche.me found no 2026 platform from her. The City’s declaration of results for the 2023 by-election lists Heather He with 297 votes, 28th of 102 candidates.
