(Toronto Public Library) candidate profile](https://knowyourvote.to/candidates/toronto-district-school-board-ward-7-gladstone-cherrington) 01 / Introduction ## About Gladstone Cherrington Gladstone Cherrington appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Toronto District School Board in Ward 7. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 7, 2026 and no campaign website. His Know Your Vote T.O. answers say that as a Queen’s Park policy specialist he worked alongside former MPP Gerard Kennedy, “the Critic and Minister of Education”, and attended the Ministry of Education’s estimates proceedings in a legislative policy role. That is his own statement. voche.me searched for a record of the role and found no second source, so it is not stated as a fact. The same answers say he would revisit provincial legislation to hold the Ford government accountable for school funding, advocate for smaller classes and for money to repair outdated school buildings, and give weight to the needs of students and the voices of parents in decisions on specialized programs. TDSB wards changed for 2026. Ward 7 covers City wards 11, 12 and 13, which the candidates’ own sites call University-Rosedale, Toronto-St. Paul’s and Toronto Centre. The TDSB’s trustee wards page says that during provincial supervision the powers of trustees rest with the provincially appointed Supervisor, that trustees have no official duties with the board at this time, and that this also applies to trustees elected in October 2026. His description of his work at Queen’s Park comes from his own answers and is attributed to them. His Know Your Vote T.O. page lists a phone number, which is not copied here. Gaps. The City’s list shows no campaign website. His Facebook page returned only the account name and no text, so nothing from it is used. A search for his name returned only pages about hotels and schools named Gladstone. A second search for his name with Gerard Kennedy and Queen’s Park returned no page that names him, so the role is unconfirmed. No board minutes apply because voche.me found no board role. The questionnaire has not been sent.
