A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as July 17, 2026 and the campaign website votenunziata2026.ca. The City’s Members of Council page lists Councillor Frances Nunziata for York South-Weston, and her City profile page names her Council Speaker. The profile says she has represented the area since 1997, was Mayor of York from 1994 to 1997 and a City of York Councillor from 1988 to 1994, and was first elected a school board trustee in 1985. It says Council has elected her Speaker since December 1, 2010. The profile ends with the line “Information provided by Councillor”, so these dates are her own account, published on the City’s page. The complaint said her office’s constituent contact information was used for election purposes in the 2022 campaign without the constituent’s consent. The Integrity Commissioner found that her conduct violated Article 5 (Confidential Information) and Article 7 (Election Campaign Work) of the Code of Conduct, and recommended that Council reprimand her. The attached report says a spreadsheet created by her Chief of Staff held 35,210 rows of data, with an estimated 8,000 email contacts. It says she accepted the findings and recommendations, took full responsibility for her actions and those of her staff, and committed to protecting the confidentiality of constituent contact information. The Integrity Commissioner’s page lists a City Council decision on this report dated July 24 and 25, 2024. voche.me could not open that decision, because the City’s decisions site refused the request, so this record does not say what Council decided.
