A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 14, 2026 and the campaign website domenicomaiolo.com. His campaign website says he was born in Toronto and has spent much of his adult life volunteering with not-for-profit organizations, food drives, local church groups and neighbourhood events. Its slogan is “Time for accountable and responsible government!” The website lists no specific policies. These are the campaign’s own statements, and voche.me did not check them against another source. The Local says Domenico Maiolo is the chair of the Dufferin-Wingold Business Improvement Area in North York, and says the association’s website describes him as a business owner. voche.me opened the About page of the MarkeTo District BIA, which The Local does not name. The page describes the area’s association and does not name him, so the statement stays The Local’s alone. The City Clerk’s declaration of results for the October 24, 2022 general election, for Ward 8 Eglinton-Lawrence, includes an entry with the same name. No source opened by voche.me ties that entry to this candidate, so it is left out of this record. These are stated positions, not an assessment of results or a complete platform. No platform positions have been supplied. Research status ## What voche.me has checked Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, its Members of Council page, the home page and About page of his campaign website, the About page of the MarkeTo District BIA, the City Clerk’s declaration of results for 2022, The Local’s Ward 8 candidate page and The Green Line’s Ward 8 guide. The sitting Ward 8 councillor is Mike Colle, listed on the City’s Members of Council page. He is on the City’s list of certified candidates and is seeking re-election. Every statement taken from Domenico Maiolo’s campaign website is written as the campaign’s own account. Gaps. His business, his volunteer work and his Business Improvement Area role were not confirmed by any source other than his own site and The Local. The 2022 entry with the same name is not attributed to him, because no named source ties it to this candidate. His website lists no priorities, so the priorities and experience sections are empty. Empty sections record that nothing was verified. They carry no judgment on what he may have said or done. The questionnaire has not been sent.
