01 / Introduction

## About Denis Tsang

Denis Tsang appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Councillor in Ward 15 Don Valley West. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 13, 2026 and the campaign website votedenistsang.ca.

His campaign website says he is a registered dietitian who has worked in primary care, meaning everyday care from family doctors’ clinics, since 2014, immigrated to Canada 20 years ago and has lived in Leaside since 2016. It says his work includes quality improvement and performance management at the Alliance for Healthier Communities, a role at the Woodbridge Medical Centre Family Health Team and teaching in family and community medicine at the University of Toronto. The Local gives the Alliance for Healthier Communities role, citing his LinkedIn page. voche.me did not check these roles with the organizations.

The College of Dietitians of Ontario’s news release of July 11, 2025 says Denis Tsang, RD, was re-elected Chair of its Board of Directors for 2025 to 2026. The College’s board page lists him as Chair of the Board and an elected director, with a current term of 2025 to 2028 and earlier terms of 2019 to 2022 and 2022 to 2025. This is the College’s own record of the role his website and The Local describe.

His website lists commitments to housing with more affordability and better maintenance, mobility with less congestion and safer streets, reliable City service such as snow clearing, accountability with clearer timelines, and growth that fits the neighbourhood. The Local summarises his platform as more housing, expanded transit and better transparency in government. These are the campaign’s own statements and The Local’s summary.

TTCriders, a transit rider group, asked every Ward 15 candidate 18 questions about the TTC. Its page lists Denis Tsang as having given no response to any of them. That list is TTCriders’ record.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, its Members of Council page and Councillor Rachel Chernos Lin’s profile, the City Clerk’s 2022 results, the home page of his campaign website, two pages of the College of Dietitians of Ontario’s website, The Local’s Ward 15 tracker and TTCriders’ page of Ward 15 candidate responses. Every statement taken from his campaign website is written as the campaign’s own account.

Ward context. The sitting Ward 15 councillor on the City’s Members of Council page is Rachel Chernos Lin, who is also a candidate. The City’s list has 3 candidates for Ward 15: Rachel Chernos Lin, Sheena Sharp and Denis Tsang. The City Clerk’s 2022 results for Ward 15 list four candidates: Jaye Robinson (16,142 votes, elected), Sheena Sharp (2,780), David Ricci (2,438) and Gregory Vaz (389). The City Clerk’s declaration for the November 4, 2024 by-election lists Rachel Chernos Lin first with 12,899 votes, marked elected. A search for a 2026 debate or all-candidates meeting in the ward found none.

Gaps. His other roles, his degrees and his years in primary care were not checked with the organizations, the universities or the College’s public register. The platform documents his website links to were not opened. No public office is on record in the profile. His social media accounts were not read. The questionnaire has not been sent.
