A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as July 24, 2026 and a campaign website, brandonchoi.ca. His campaign website says Ward 4 is where he grew up and went to school. It says he has spent four years working at the municipal level, including in a local Councillor’s office on constituency affairs and community engagement, and that before that he taught history in TDSB classrooms through ALPHA Education. It adds that he has volunteered teaching English to newcomers at North York Community House and The Neighbourhood Group Community Services. These are the campaign’s own statements, and the site does not name the Councillor. voche.me did not check them with the employers or the organizations. His site lists cuts it attributes to the provincial government, including 792 staff positions eliminated and a $6.4 million cut in special education funding, and says the province placed the TDSB under supervision and doubled the size of TDSB wards through Bill 101. Those figures are the campaign’s and voche.me did not check them. Ward 4 covers City wards 6 and 18, which the candidates’ own sites call York Centre and Willowdale. The TDSB’s trustee wards page says that during provincial supervision the powers of trustees rest with the provincially appointed Supervisor, that trustees have no official duties with the board at this time, and that this also applies to trustees elected in October 2026. The Toronto and York Region Labour Council’s endorsements page lists him among its endorsed Toronto trustee candidates for York Centre and Willowdale.
