A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 20, 2026 and a campaign website, alexisdawson.ca. A Toronto District School Board poster for 2024-25 reads “Your School Trustee Alexis Dawson, Ward 9, Davenport & Spadina-Fort York”. The City Clerk’s declaration of results for October 24, 2022 lists Alexis Dawson first among 8 candidates for Toronto District School Board Ward 9, with 19,618 votes, marked elected. The 8 declared totals add up to 32,740 votes, so her share was 59.9 percent, calculated by voche.me from those figures. That 2022 Ward 9 is the old ward named on the board’s poster. voche.me did not find a start date on the board’s own pages and gives none. TDSB wards changed for 2026. Ward 3 covers City wards 4 (Parkdale-High Park) and 9 (Davenport). The 2022 result belongs to the old Ward 9 and is not treated as the same place as the new Ward 3. The TDSB’s trustee wards page says that during provincial supervision the powers of trustees rest with the provincially appointed Supervisor, that trustees have no official duties with the board at this time, and that this also applies to trustees elected in October 2026. The Toronto and York Region Labour Council’s endorsements page lists her among its endorsed Toronto trustee candidates for Parkdale-High Park and Davenport. The council describes her as an antiracism educator, public education advocate, equity, diversity and inclusion consultant and elected TDSB Trustee. Those descriptions are the council’s own, and her trustee role comes from the board’s poster and the City Clerk’s results. Her trustee role comes from the board’s own poster and the City Clerk’s results. The 2022 result belongs to the ward as it was then, the old Ward 9 (Davenport and Spadina-Fort York), and is not treated as the same place as the new Ward 3. Gaps. Her campaign website, alexisdawson.ca, returned a maintenance notice and HTTP 503 on October 4, 2026, so no platform or statement by her for the 2026 campaign was read. Her Know Your Vote T.O. page lists a website, a Facebook page and an Instagram account, and its four questions are marked “Awaiting submission”. No board minutes or recorded vote were opened, so no vote is attributed to her. A TorontoToday article about trustees’ reactions to the province’s changes came up in a search and refused the page request (HTTP 403), so nothing from it is used. The questionnaire has not been sent.
