"twitter:title": "Ahnaaf Hassan: candidate for Toronto District School Board in Ward 10, Toronto 2026" --- ** Toronto District School Board in Ward 10 · Toronto 2026 # Ahnaaf Hassan Candidate for Toronto District School Board in Ward 10, elected a TDSB student trustee for 2025-26. His campaign website lists equitable school funding, student nutrition and well-being, and special education funding as his priorities. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 21, 2026 and a campaign website, ahnaafhassan.ca. Ward 10 covers Beaches-East York and Scarborough Southwest. The TDSB’s news item of February 28, 2025 says students elected Ahnaaf Hassan and Victor Jiang as the 2025-26 student trustees, who attend Board and committee meetings and link students to the Board. CP24 reported on September 9, 2025 that he said he had been unable to use board email, schedule meetings or speak with the director of education on a regular basis since the province placed the TDSB under supervision at the end of June 2025. That account is his, as CP24 reported it. His campaign website says he represented the TDSB’s students during his term as a student trustee, worked with elected officials and community groups on issues such as Bill 33, which his site says requires police in schools, and cuts to student aid, and was a finalist for a list of Canada’s youngest changemakers. Those are the campaign’s own statements, and voche.me did not check the finalist claim. His Instagram bio calls him a previous TDSB student trustee. These are stated positions, not an assessment of results or a complete platform. 01 ### Equitable school funding His website says he wants funding models that give more to schools that need more, and links this to the restructuring of the Model Schools for Inner Cities program. [Ahnaaf Hassan campaign website · Platform ](https://www.ahnaafhassan.ca/platform) 02 ### Student nutrition and well-being His website says he wants every student to receive a standard of care through the food and nutrition program, by expanding what exists or starting new initiatives. [Ahnaaf Hassan campaign website · Platform ](https://www.ahnaafhassan.ca/platform) 03 ### Special education funding His website says he wants special education funding reinvested, with support staff and dedicated resources for students. His student trustee role comes from the TDSB’s own news item. His priorities, his advocacy record and the finalist claim come from his campaign website and are attributed to it in the sentences that carry them. TDSB wards changed for 2026. Ward 10 covers City wards 19 and 20, which are Beaches-East York and Scarborough Southwest. The TDSB’s 2018 to 2022 trustee list names the old Ward 16 as Beaches-East York and the old Ward 18 as Scarborough Southwest. The City Clerk’s 2022 results show Michelle Aarts elected in the old Ward 16 and Malika Ghous elected in the old Ward 18. Those seats belong to the old wards and are not treated as seats in the new Ward 10. Beach Metro Community News reported on August 21, 2026 that Michelle Aarts registered for the new Ward 10 and withdrew her name on August 20, that the two old wards were merged into Ward 10, and that nine candidates are registered for it. voche.me found no current TDSB page that names the holder of the old Ward 18 seat, because the board’s ward pages loaded only the board’s home page, so that seat rests on the 2022 results alone. The TDSB’s trustee wards page says that during provincial supervision the powers of trustees rest with the provincially appointed Supervisor, that trustees have no official duties with the board at this time, and that this also applies to trustees elected in the October 2026 municipal election. Gaps. His Know Your Vote T.O. page carries answers to four questions in his own words, and the campaign’s funding figures in them are his statements. A Facebook account and a LinkedIn account are linked there and were not opened. No board minutes were opened, so no recorded vote is attributed to him. voche.me sets no current role for him, because the sources it opened give his student trustee role for the 2025-26 school year only.
