A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as July 13, 2026 and the campaign website voteforahmed.ca. His campaign website, which is the campaign’s own statement, says he was raised in Ward 12, walked to Davisville Public School, attended Hodgson Middle School and graduated from North Toronto Collegiate Institute. It lists his local experience as frontline and construction work, daily commuting on Line 1 and reporting problems to the City’s 311 service. The Local’s Ward 12 tracker, updated as of September 21, 2026, says little information is available online about him and that he says he works in construction. His Platform page, the campaign’s own statement, has four sections. They cover safer and better-maintained streets, smarter growth that comes with the infrastructure to support it, more reliable transit, and support for local businesses and main streets. His Local Issues page shows photographs of road damage and empty shops that it says neighbours reported. His YouTube channel description repeats his campaign message that Ward 12 raised him and that it is time to give back. In answers published by Build Canada, he said Yes to allowing more housing as of right (without a separate approval for each project), including gentle density (more homes in small buildings inside existing neighbourhoods), and Yes to requiring a person to leave an encampment when a suitable indoor option exists, paired with support. He said Yes to road pricing with clear accountability, and chose the option “Remain approximately constant after inflation” for the police budget. These are his own words as that site published them. [Ahmed Kamal · Platform ](https://www.voteforahmed.ca/platform) Research status ## What voche.me has checked Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, four pages of his campaign website (home, About, Platform and Local Issues), the description of his YouTube channel, The Local’s Ward 12 tracker, Build Canada’s page of Ward 12 candidate answers and TTCriders’ page of Ward 12 candidate responses. The sitting Ward 12 councillor on the City’s Members of Council page is Josh Matlow. Every statement taken from his website is written as the campaign’s own account. His school history is the campaign’s claim and was not checked with the schools. Gaps. No public role is on record in the profile. His Instagram account could not be read, and the YouTube channel page showed only its description. The About page shows placeholder figures that voche.me did not use. TTCriders lists him as giving no response to its questions. The questionnaire has not been sent.
