Outgoing Ward 6 Stittsville Councillor Glen Gower published what he described as one of his final community updates on November 1, 2026, outlining several changes coming for residents before he leaves office on November 14.

Chelsea Walton, who won the Ward 6 seat on October 26, takes office on November 15.

## Winter parking restrictions from December 1

Gower said in his newsletter, published by Stittsville Central, that additional Stittsville streets will have seasonal parking restrictions from December 1 through March 31. He did not list the specific street names in the newsletter, but said residents with existing City service requests should confirm their SR reference number so they can follow up after the transition.

For general City service questions in Ward 6, Gower directed residents to call 311 or use the online form at ottawa.ca/311 during the transition period, as the ward office will have limited capacity.

## Heritage designation proposed for Cedarow Court

Gower said in the newsletter that the David Hartin House at 10 Cedarow Court in Stittsville, built in 1876, has been recommended for designation under the Ontario Heritage Act. The building currently houses Jask Salon and Day Spa. A recommendation means the designation process has begun; City Council has the final say on whether to grant it.

## Traffic calming on Sweetnam Drive

Gower said construction work on Sweetnam Drive is continuing through November. The work includes installing a pedestrian crosswalk and speed humps near Harry Douglas Drive. He described it as part of traffic calming improvements for the street.

## Office transition

Gower is closing his ward office after eight years. He told newsletter subscribers with active City service requests to note their SR number, since privacy rules prevent transferring personal information to Walton's incoming office. He expects to send his last two newsletters on November 4 and November 11.

[Chelsea Walton's candidate page on this site](/on/ottawa-2026/candidates/chelsea-walton) has further information. Her ward office contact details will be available through the City of Ottawa once she takes office on November 15.

Ward 6 residents who want to know whether their street is affected by the December 1 winter parking restrictions should contact the City at 311 or look for a notice from the incoming ward office after November 15.
