Apartment613 reported on November 5 that three of this year's films were made by Ottawa-based filmmakers. Songs for Murdered Sisters, a 30-minute documentary about grief and femicide by Ottawa directors Kyle Megill and John Kealey, is in the Saturday matinee. The Pavilion by Ottawa animator Pixie Cram, a 15-minute stop-motion wartime drama, is in the 9 p.m. Saturday slot at the ByTowne.

OCAN is a volunteer-run registered charity. It is listed as a qualifying festival for the Canadian Screen Awards by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. The ByTowne Cinema is at 325 Rideau St and the Mayfair Theatre is at 1074 Bank St. Passes and tickets are at ocanfilmfest.ca.
