CBC News says he has worked in finance and created a consulting firm that advises businesses on international trade. In the CTV News questionnaire he says he is a first-time candidate for elected office. In the CTV News questionnaire he says he holds a Master of Financial Risk Management from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, worked at Scotiabank in Treasury and Capital Markets, and now runs two small businesses: Senatus Group, an international trade advisory firm, and SeatLogic, a technology company. His campaign website gives the same history. He says he was born in Ottawa, moved to Kanata North at age eight, attended St. Isidore and All Saints schools and the University of Ottawa, and spent several years in Toronto for graduate school and work before returning. These are his own statements, and voche.me has not checked them with a university, a bank or a business registry. His campaign website sets out five priorities: making Stage 3 light rail to Kanata a funded project, making Kanata North a centre for technology, building homes together with roads and services, keeping taxes in check, and protecting greenspace and neighbourhoods. He says he would oppose ordinary property tax increases above inflation. In the CBC News questionnaire he says the police budget is appropriate and should follow evidence and results, and he chooses a transit levy to address OC Transpo deficits. In the CTV News questionnaire he says he would support police budget increases tied to demonstrated need, and does not support an infrastructure levy. He says he supports a land swap that would protect the former Kanata Golf and Country Club lands as open space, if the Province can deliver one. The CBC News questionnaire says he would fight to keep those lands green, and the CTV News questionnaire calls the land swap the best path to protecting them.
