01 / Introduction

## About Jaycob Jacques

The City of Ottawa’s list of certified candidates for the CECCE, last updated September 9, 2026, shows Jaycob Jacques in Zone 6 with a nomination filed on August 20, 2026. The City’s open data file shows no withdrawal. The other nominations in the zone are by David Elisma (May 6, 2026), Michel Charron (July 10, 2026) and Samtou Tchamdja (August 20, 2026). The City list gives him a website, a Facebook page, an Instagram account and a LinkedIn page. The City’s 2022 results for the zone name Franklin Epape and Denis Forget and do not name him.

His campaign website describes him as a Franco-Ontarian whose schooling, from primary school to post-secondary studies, was entirely in French. It says he received a Vision Scholarship from the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario and the Gaétan-Gervais Scholarship from the ACFO du Grand Sudbury, where he also worked. It says he created school clubs, took part in sustainability projects and in student advocacy on the Ontario student aid program, and held responsibilities in the Jeunes verts de l’Ontario (Young Greens of Ontario) and in provincial bodies. It gives no dates and no employer. voche.me did not check the scholarships or the roles with the organizations that the website names.

The website lists five priorities. The first is student voice, with regular chances to hear students directly, including primary students in age-suited ways. The second is an active offer of mental health support, which means offering help before a student asks. The third is Franco-Ontarian life in schools. The fourth is efficient schools and careful use of resources, including energy savings that are put back into classrooms. The fifth is classroom temperature, with clear expectations for indoor temperatures and plans for heat waves. The website also says that a trustee does not decide alone and works with other board members and administration.

His VoteMate profile, submitted by him or his team, adds specific positions. It sets a goal of keeping CECCE classrooms between 18 and 26 degrees Celsius, calls for removing physical barriers in schools, supports newcomer students and families, supports equal access to safe and respectful education for transgender and gender-diverse students, asks for teaching on residential schools and Indigenous education built with First Nations, Inuit and Métis partners, and asks for teaching students to use artificial intelligence critically. These are his campaign’s positions.

He holds no public office on the record voche.me read. The sources read hold no complaint or allegation about him.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 7, 2026: the City’s list of certified candidates for the CECCE (an Internet Archive copy of the page last updated September 9, 2026), the City’s open data file of nominations and its 2022 results for CECCE Zone 6, three pages of his campaign website (home, À propos and Mes priorités), and his VoteMate profile. CTV News Ottawa’s guide to school board candidates, published September 9, 2026 and updated October 5, 2026, was also read; it lists the candidate by name under the CECCE and quotes nothing.

Gaps. His Facebook page, Instagram account and LinkedIn page need a login and were not read. The school scholarships, the roles in youth and provincial organizations and the student advocacy come from his campaign only, with no dates, and were not confirmed with those organizations. A general web search engine was not available during this research, so the name search used the websites of Radio-Canada, ONFR, VoteMate, the board and the campaign only. Radio-Canada and ONFR returned nothing about him. The voche.me questionnaire has not been sent.
