01 / Introduction

## About Coreen Corcoran

The City’s list of certified candidates shows Coreen Corcoran’s nomination for Councillor in Ward 11 Beacon Hill-Cyrville dated August 19, 2026, and shows no registration in the Contribution Rebate Program. The City list gives her a LinkedIn address and no website. CBC News reported on August 25, 2026 that she is a former deputy leader of the Ontario Libertarian Party. CTV News Ottawa lists her with no response to its questionnaire.

The Ontario Libertarian Party is a provincial party, and Ontario municipal candidates have no party. The party’s own profile page says she was elected Deputy Leader on October 24, 2021, was its candidate for Nepean-Carleton in the 2014 Ontario election, and ran for the Libertarian Party of Canada in Ottawa-Vanier in 2015 and Ottawa-Centre in 2019. The party’s 2026 executive committee page lists her as Secretary and names someone else as Deputy Leader. The Canadian Elections Database, a site that compiles results, lists her with 955 votes in Nepean-Carleton in 2014, 503 in Ottawa-Vanier in 2015, 360 in Ottawa-Centre in 2019 and 335 as a Libertarian in Ottawa-Vanier in 2022, and shows no win. voche.me has not checked those counts against Elections Ontario or Elections Canada. In the NCR NOW interview she says she has run as a candidate several times since 2014.

In the NCR NOW interview she says she grew up in the south end of Ottawa, has lived in Beacon Hill for 14 years, holds a degree from Carleton University and a master’s degree from Athabasca University, and has mostly worked for government-related organizations as a technical writer and in governance, compliance and project roles. These are her own statements, and voche.me has not checked them with those employers or universities.

She says she is running to bring openness and accountability to City Hall, and writes that she sees project delays and cost overruns on almost every City project of the last 20 years. She would not back new large projects, would plan projects that can finish within one term, and would publish online dashboards that show the progress of every project and construction job in the ward. In the CBC News questionnaire she names the loss of the middle class as the biggest challenge, would end the City worker office attendance requirement where a job allows work from home, remove the three-bag limit on garbage, and look at lower property taxes for businesses. She gives no ceiling for a 2027 tax increase and says she would need to go through the budget first. She calls the police budget appropriate and asks for a look at overtime, targeted patrols and ideas from other cities for repeat offenders. She gives 4 on a scale where 5 is strongly agree to the statement that building more homes in built-up areas will be important for housing in the ward, and answers yes to prioritizing climate resilience.

Capital Current reported on September 21, 2026 that she has raised concerns about OC Transpo scheduling, saying she has seen buses arrive back-to-back and then leave a 35-minute gap during rush hour. In the NCR NOW interview she says the City’s 48-point transit plan was released to help the current mayor and councillors get re-elected. That is her view of the City’s motives, and voche.me has not checked it. The sources voche.me read hold no complaint or allegation about her.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 6, 2026: the City’s list of certified candidates for Ward 11 and its open data file of nominations, CBC News of August 25, 2026 with her questionnaire answers, CTV News Ottawa’s listing, the NCR NOW interview of August 31, 2026, Capital Current of September 21, 2026, the Ontario Libertarian Party’s profile and executive committee pages, and the Canadian Elections Database.

Gaps. The City list gives her a LinkedIn address, which LinkedIn would not show to a script. No campaign website was found. The party profile page is the party’s own statement, and the election counts come from a site that compiles results and were not checked against Elections Ontario or Elections Canada. Her work and education are her own statements. The questionnaire has not been sent.
