01 / Introduction

## About Christine Harrison

Christine Harrison is on the City of Ottawa's list of certified candidates for Councillor in Ward 5 West Carleton-March, with a nomination dated May 1, 2026. CBC News describes her as a registered psychotherapist and the founder of a clinic. In the CTV News questionnaire she says she is a first-time candidate, a healthcare executive and registered psychotherapist with more than two decades of experience, and the founder of multidisciplinary healthcare clinics serving Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley. She says she holds an MBA in Public Health and a professional doctorate in mental health leadership and organizational wellness.

In the CTV News questionnaire she says she was a board member of the ByWard Family Health Team and spent more than four years with Carp Health Access, serving as Board Chair. In the CBC News questionnaire she says she has lived in the ward for 16 years, has worked in West Carleton for 16 years, and has received two awards for her health business. The Ottawa Business Journal reported on June 16, 2026 that a Christine Harrison, founder of Focus Forward Health, is among the finalists in the Established Entrepreneurial Leader category of the Businesswoman of the Year awards, which the Women's Business Network runs and whose winners are announced on October 14, 2026. The Facebook page she gave the City is for Focus Forward Health, and her statement that she is a finalist agrees with the report. Her degrees, board roles and awards are her own statements, and voche.me has not checked them with the schools, the boards or the awards body.

Her campaign website lists five platform priorities: infrastructure that keeps up with growth, roads, safer communities, protecting rural communities and local services, and the cost of living. It carries endorsements attributed to former Senator Vern White and to Eli El-Chantiry, the Ward 5 Councillor before 2022. These endorsements are the campaign's own material.

A statement on her website dated September 14, 2026 says that on the battery energy storage project recently approved in the ward she would not have supported the project as it stood. She says she is not opposed to all renewable energy projects, and that as Councillor she would lead her own community engagement on major projects. In the CBC News questionnaire she says she would support a maximum property tax increase of 2.5 percent for 2027. The sources read hold no complaint or allegation about her.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 6, 2026: the City's list of certified candidates for Ward 5, her campaign website, the CBC News and CTV News Ottawa questionnaires, Capital Current of September 22, 2026 and the Ottawa Business Journal of June 16, 2026.

Gaps. Her degrees, board roles, awards and clinic are her own statements and were not checked against registers or the awarding body's final results. Her Facebook posts could not be read. A finalist listing is not a win, and the winners are not announced until October 14, 2026. Her website's endorsements are campaign material and were not checked with the endorsers. The questionnaire has not been sent.
