Ottawa Catholic School Board in Zone 10 · Ottawa 2026

# Cameron Bonesso

Candidate for Ottawa Catholic School Board trustee in Zone 10 (Rideau-Vanier, Rideau-Rockcliffe and Somerset wards) for the second time; he finished second in 2022 with 40.4 percent against sitting trustee Cindy Desclouds-Simpson; his campaign site sets out eight priorities.

Cameron Bonesso is on the City of Ottawa’s open data list of nominated candidates for Ottawa Catholic School Board trustee in Zone 10, which covers City Wards 12, 13 and 14, with a nomination dated May 1, 2026. The other nominee in the zone is Cindy Desclouds-Simpson, the sitting trustee and Vice-Chair. The City’s results give Bonesso 877 of 2,173 votes, 40.4 percent, in the 2022 race, the highest share of any candidate who did not win in the ten Ottawa Catholic School Board zones that year. His campaign website says he works as a political consultant and company president, and its eight priorities include accountability, executive pay, mental health, school drinking water, school safety near St. Anthony School and special education. The site says the sitting trustee voted in January to raise executive pay; the board’s records that voche.me read do not show how any trustee voted.

01 / Introduction

## About Cameron Bonesso

The City of Ottawa’s open data file shows Cameron Bonesso’s nomination for trustee of the Ottawa Catholic School Board in Zone 10 dated May 1, 2026, with no withdrawal. The other nomination in the zone is Cindy Desclouds-Simpson, dated May 4, 2026. CTV News Ottawa’s guide of September 9, 2026 lists both, marks neither as acclaimed, and links Bonesso’s name to his campaign website. An Internet Archive copy of the City’s list of nominated candidates, last updated June 29, 2026, shows the same website as the only address he gave the City. The City’s page for this board could not be read in its current form, so voche.me relies on the open data file.

The City’s official results for the October 24, 2022 election give Bonesso 877 of the 2,173 votes cast in the Zone 10 race, which is 40.4 percent, against 1,296 votes, 59.6 percent, for Cindy Desclouds-Simpson. Across the ten Ottawa Catholic School Board zones that year, his share was the highest among candidates who did not win. The FAIR Ottawa survey of October 9, 2022, a nonpartisan group’s survey that publishes answers exactly as submitted, includes his answer on why he ran: he wrote that his top priority was advocating for more funding for board-wide mental health programs for students and staff. In that answer he also described his university studies and his earlier work for a Member of Parliament, which are his own statements. The board’s list of nine applicants for the Zone 9 vacancy in 2023 includes the name Cameron Bonesso. No source read states whether that is this candidate, and the board appointed another applicant.

The campaign website says he grew up in Oshawa and attended Catholic school there, has lived in Sandy Hill for over 8 years, and works as a political consultant and as president of CM Solutions, a consulting firm and call centre he co-founded in 2020. It says he previously worked as an adviser and executive assistant to Members of Parliament. These are the campaign’s statements about itself, and voche.me has not checked them. The site says he is running because he is concerned about the future of the board and the ability of students, parents and ratepayers to have effective representation.

The site says the incumbent trustee for the zone voted in January 2026 in favour of raising pay for school board executives. The board’s Board Motions Registry for 2025 to 2026 lists resolution 18-26 of January 27, 2026, moved by Trustee Warren and seconded by Trustee MacEwan, which approves a one-time adjustment to the executive compensation framework. The registry lists no vote counts and no names of trustees who voted for or against, so voche.me cannot confirm how Desclouds-Simpson or any other trustee voted. voche.me found no response from her to this claim. On bus attendants, the site says he attended a June protest at the board office. CTV News Ottawa reported on June 24, 2026 that trustees voted unanimously on June 23 to rescind the cut to bus attendant positions.

The board’s trustee page does not list him, and he holds no public office on the record voche.me read. The sources read hold no complaint or allegation about him.

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 7, 2026: the home page of his campaign website cam4trustee.ca and its printable platform of September 15, 2026, the public parts of his Facebook and Instagram pages, the City’s open data file of nominations, its 2022 official results for all ten Ottawa Catholic School Board zones, an Internet Archive copy of the City’s list of nominated candidates for this board (last updated June 29, 2026), the board’s trustee page, its release of July 18, 2023 and its Board Motions Registry for 2025 to 2026, the FAIR Ottawa survey of October 9, 2022, CTV News Ottawa of June 24 and September 9, 2026.

Gaps. The City’s page for the Ottawa Catholic School Board could not be read: ottawa.ca returns an empty page to automated requests, and the Internet Archive holds no copy of the certified list. The only archived copy is the City’s list of nominated candidates last updated June 29, 2026. The priorities are the campaign’s own statements and were not checked against board or Ministry of Education records, including the figures the site takes from a report on lead in school drinking water. The site’s statements about the sitting trustee were not put to her. The registry gives no individual votes. His posts on Facebook and Instagram were not read. The voche.me questionnaire has not been sent.
