Daily Hive compared the housing, public safety and economic platforms of five Vancouver parties on September 25. The parties are [ABC Vancouver](/parties/abc-vancouver), [Vote Vancouver](/parties/vote-vancouver), the [Vancouver Liberals](/parties/vancouver-liberals), the [Green Party of Vancouver](/parties/green-party-of-vancouver) and [TEAM for a Livable Vancouver](/parties/team-for-a-livable-vancouver). Each position is that party's own stated commitment, as reported by Daily Hive.

## Housing

[Pete Fry](/candidates/pete-fry) and the Green Party promised to launch pre-approved housing designs, partner with Build Canada Homes and streamline permitting for several housing types.

[Ken Sim](/candidates/ken-sim) and ABC Vancouver did not include housing in their initial platform, according to Daily Hive.

[Rebecca Bligh](/candidates/rebecca-bligh) and Vote Vancouver said they will create affordable homes for middle-income earners on public land, with not-for-profit childcare included in all new developments.

[Colleen Hardwick](/candidates/colleen-hardwick) and TEAM said governments and the private sector would work together to deliver housing middle-income households can afford, while also prioritizing low-income and secure rental housing. TEAM argues upzoning increases land values, which they say causes speculation.

[Kareem Allam](/candidates/kareem-allam) and the Vancouver Liberals said they would replace the Vancouver Building bylaw with the B.C. Building Code and merge the 12 departments that approve housing into one.

## Public safety

Pete Fry and the Green Party announced the CROW Team (Community Response Outreach Workers), a 24/7 non-police, non-medical mobile response for non-emergency calls involving homelessness, addiction, public intoxication and mental health crises.

Ken Sim and ABC Vancouver said they would ban hard drug use in public spaces and push for at least 100 involuntary treatment beds in Vancouver. They also said overdose prevention sites should be located away from public parks and schools.

Kareem Allam and the Vancouver Liberals said they would increase Vancouver Police Department funding. Colleen Hardwick and TEAM promised a residents' safety action plan targeting repeat offenders. Rebecca Bligh and Vote Vancouver did not include public safety promises in their platform, according to Daily Hive.

## Economy and other promises

ABC Vancouver promised a property tax freeze in 2027, the removal of residential parking permit fees, and a 50-metre pool at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre. Vote Vancouver said it would create a small business concierge for permits and city processes. TEAM announced a fiscal framework with a line-by-line budget review.
