[Pete Fry](/candidates/pete-fry) of the Green Party of Vancouver leads [Ken Sim](/candidates/ken-sim) of ABC Vancouver 23% to 19% in the latest Leger survey of the Vancouver mayoral race, with more than a third of voters still undecided eight days before election day. Leger published the full results on October 9, 2026.

The poll covered 1,207 Metro Vancouver residents aged 18 or older and was conducted between September 23 and 30. Leger weighted results by age, gender, region, and education. For a probability sample of that size, Leger says the margin of error would be no greater than plus or minus 2.8 percentage points, 19 times out of 20. That margin means the four-point gap between Fry and Sim is not statistically certain.

The three other candidates in the mayoral race were all in single digits. [Colleen Hardwick](/candidates/colleen-hardwick) of TEAM for a Livable Vancouver and [Kareem Allam](/candidates/kareem-allam) of the Vancouver Liberals were each at 6%, while [Rebecca Bligh](/candidates/rebecca-bligh) of Vote Vancouver was at 5%, according to results reported by the Vancouver Sun, which commissioned the poll with Leger for Postmedia.

## Certain voters shift the picture

The poll found that half of Metro Vancouver residents said they were 100% certain they would vote on October 17. That figure drops to 35% among residents aged 18 to 34 and rises to 64% among those aged 55 and older.

Among Vancouver voters who said they were certain to cast a ballot, Fry's support rose from 23% overall to 34%. The gap between decided and certain voters is one reason the race remains open. Leger found that 36% of Vancouver voters had not yet decided who they would support.

## Vancouver voters among most dissatisfied in Metro

The poll found 62% of Vancouver voters say the city is on the wrong track, compared with 28% who say it is heading in the right direction. Approval of the mayor and council was lower in Vancouver than in any other city measured across Metro Vancouver.

The poll also found 57% of Metro Vancouver residents overall say it is time for a change in city council. That figure rises to 62% in Vancouver specifically.

Cost of living and affordability outside of housing is the leading issue across Metro Vancouver, selected as a top-three concern by 47% of residents, ahead of housing affordability at 34%.
