Vancouver's first festival dedicated to queer comedy opens Monday, November 10 and runs through Sunday, November 15. Funny and Gay Comedy Festival presents ten shows across six days at venues including Little Mountain Gallery, Fox Cabaret and VS Creative Labs.

Co-founders Aron MacDonald and Andrea Feltrin launched the festival to build Vancouver's queer comedy community. MacDonald hosts Comedy in the Afternoon and co-produces Boy-ish Comedy, both of which are on the festival's lineup. Feltrin is a filmmaker and comedian whose debut special, PITY PARTY, releases in 2027.

## The schedule

The festival opens Tuesday, November 10 with Open Michelle, an open mic at Little Mountain Gallery's Raccoon Room. Signups start at 7 pm and the show begins at 7:30 pm.

Wednesday, November 11 has two shows: QueerProv (improv comedy at The Junction, 8 pm) and Camp! Comedy! at The Projection Room at Fox Cabaret (8:30 pm).

Friday, November 13 has three: Boy-ish Comedy at The Closet Upstairs (7 pm), That's Gay! Comedy at Little Mountain Gallery's Salazar Stage (9 pm, hosted by Erin Purghart), and Camp! Comedy! at Fox Cabaret.

Saturday, November 14 brings Crowns and Clowns, a drag brunch at The Flamingo Room (noon), a stand-up workshop at Princess Avenue (1 to 3 pm), and Punch Up! at Little Mountain Gallery's Raccoon Room (9:30 pm).

Sunday, November 15 closes the festival with Comedy in the Afternoon at The Pleasant (4 pm) and See Lai, an all-Asian comedy showcase at VS Creative Labs at 1884 Main Street (7 pm).

## That's Gay! Comedy

That's Gay! Comedy is now in its fourth year. The organizers describe it as Vancouver's favourite queer comedy show and say it has sold out every previous performance. It has previously appeared at Just for Laughs Toronto, Just for Laughs Vancouver and the Vancouver Fringe Festival.

## Tickets

Tickets are sold per show through Showpass or Eventbrite. No prices are listed on the festival site itself; the ticketing platform pages show the amounts. The stand-up workshop on November 14 has limited spots. Buy tickets for each show at [funnyandgay.ca](https://funnyandgay.ca).
