All eight registered Vancouver mayoral candidates have confirmed they will appear at a hospitality industry forum on October 2, 2026, according to a 604 Now report published September 28.

The event, called Candidates on Crates, is hosted by Chef's Favourite and takes place at the Bargreen Ellingson loading dock at 1250 E Georgia Street in Vancouver. It runs from 2 to 3:30 pm, 15 days before the October 17 municipal election.

## Who is confirmed

604 Now reported that all eight registered mayoral candidates will attend: [Ken Sim](/candidates/ken-sim) (ABC Vancouver), [Colleen Hardwick](/candidates/colleen-hardwick) (TEAM for a Livable Vancouver), [Pete Fry](/candidates/pete-fry) (Green Party of Vancouver), [Rebecca Bligh](/candidates/rebecca-bligh) (Vote Vancouver), [Muhammad Ahmad](/candidates/muhammad-ahmad) (Bright Future Vancouver), [Amauri Caliman](/candidates/amauri-caliman) (independent), [Kareem Allam](/candidates/kareem-allam) (Vancouver Liberals), and [Scott Gilbert](/candidates/scott-gilbert) (independent).

The forum is focused on questions from the hospitality industry. The location is a commercial kitchen equipment supplier's loading dock in East Vancouver, chosen by the organizer. Bargreen Ellingson is at 1250 E Georgia Street.

## What the forum will cover

604 Now reported that the event will give hospitality workers and business owners a chance to hear from candidates about their priorities for restaurants, bars, cafes, venues, suppliers, and hospitality workers. Chef's Favourite founder James Grass will moderate.

604 Now reported the forum will ask candidates how they would make it easier to open restaurants, how they would support nightlife while keeping workers and guests safe, and which recent city policy changes they would keep or change. The report noted that since 2023 the city has streamlined licensing, removed liquor establishment distancing rules, expanded service hours to allow restaurants to apply for service until 2 am, and waived patio permit fees for small private patios during summer 2026.

## Attending the event

604 Now's report says media interested in attending should RSVP. The article does not say whether members of the public can attend without media credentials. Contact details for the organizer are in the 604 Now article at 604now.com.
