Vancouver's four-day advance voting period ended October 13 with a final total of 103,810 people casting early ballots, according to City of Vancouver preliminary figures reported by Daily Hive Vancouver. Each of the four days set a new single-day record for advance voting in the city.

The daily totals were 21,824 on October 3, 25,142 on October 7, 27,748 on October 10, and 29,096 on October 13. Each subsequent day drew more voters than the one before it, with Tuesday October 13 finishing as the highest single advance voting day on record.

## How this compares to 2022

Daily Hive Vancouver reports that 64,963 people voted in advance in 2022 across five advance voting days. The 2026 total of 103,810 is 38,847 higher. The full 2022 election total across all voting methods was 171,494 ballots. That means the 2026 advance vote alone reached 60.5 percent of 2022's complete total, with election day still ahead.

The City ran 59 advance voting locations per day in 2026, up from 22 in 2022, according to Daily Hive Vancouver. The City expanded locations after long lines formed during the April 2025 by-election. The elections budget also increased, from $4.4 million in 2022 to $9.4 million in 2026.

Voters reported quick waits at polling stations during the advance period despite the higher numbers, Daily Hive Vancouver notes. The City used a system that allowed any eligible Vancouver voter to cast a ballot at any of the 59 locations, regardless of their home neighbourhood.

## Election day is October 17

Advance voting is now closed. Voters who have not yet cast a ballot can do so on election day, Saturday October 17. There will be 85 voting locations open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can find your nearest location at [/where-to-vote](/where-to-vote).
