The City lists no party affiliation for this candidacy. The Vancouver Sun reported on September 14, 2026 that council candidate Angela Dawson was allowed to use the usual name Rollergirl on the 2026 ballot. The point came up because Vancouver's chief election officer had gone to court over other candidates' names. Rollergirl appears at position 133 on the council ballot for October 17, 2026, with no party listed. Glacier Media has reported that Dawson has directed traffic on rollerblades in bright pink clothing for close to two decades, at Main and Hastings and also at Commercial and Broadway and at Main and 14th. In 2015 the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal found that Dawson had been discriminated against on the basis of sex in a dealing with Vancouver police, and ordered the Vancouver Police Board to pay 15,000 dollars for injury to dignity, feelings and self-respect.
